He is not going anywhere.
"We as an organization will not negotiate in the press, but I love Josh Cribbs and I’m hopeful things work out and everyone is happy at the end of the day,” Holmgren said. “It is what it is as they say, and so we’re going to keep trying and hopefully they keep trying.

I'd rather he stay with the Browns than we overpay for a kick returner.

we are all subject to opinion, i just want to see someone that will make you jump the stands and get excited about niners in every aspect. its always fun watching punt returns/kick returns for TD's. im not saying he is completely horrible, i just want to have a speedy guy thats fun to watch.who would you rather see returning kicks, i would rather get a guy like C.J. spiller in draft besides picking whats available. lets give young guys a chance. worst case scenario is he is a reggie bush but you know its fun to watch him.

"We've talked to Mike Holmgren and Tom Heckert and we have an understanding that we're going to work together on this," said the agent. "We have a much clearer indication that something can be worked out and that it's not just lip service."
His agent saying that to the press doesn't make it seem like its just rumor.

Looks like Holmgren is off to a nice start as GM being on the verge of ending a fairly major contract dispute. Not to mention Cribbs is the most talented play maker they have in Cleveland.
