It's going to be a very interesting draft for the niners. Lynch needs to do his best work on this draft, the way our picks are it's not set up that great. If they don't go BPA and are not able to move around there is potential for a reach at 58 and real potential for some big reaches with those 4th round picks.

Oh right on! Which Island?

Maui, the only place my wife likes to go.

My thing with Malachi Lawrence is his production. 7 sacks for a guy with elite traits at a small school going up against inferior talent? Was he getting chipped or double teamed a lot? I guess this is why he's not a top 10 prospect.

We already have an edge guy with tons of potential in Mykell Williams that we have to wait and see if we can unlock his full potential. I don't think we can afford another one. At least penguin armed C. Howell from Texas A&M can maybe come in and produce day 1 as a pass rush specialist.

__PRESENT

we need a rotation of guys not just 2 EDGE rushers capable of rushing the passer. The more we get the fresher our players and that will increase the production of everyone

UCF is not a small school either. That is Big 12 which feature a number of playoff teams and top programs, such as Texas Tech, BYU, Utah, TCU.

It's not like he's coming out of UMass.
Was it 7 sacks last year? If so, that's actually good production for a college edge rusher.
I've heard Lawrence's name a lot but I haven't dug into him. If we take him, hopefully he can be a really good pass rusher. That's what we need most. I think it's hard for rookies to come in and be productive pass rushing, no impossible though. He would be surrounded by some really good talent
On the final night before the draft, I predict that the 49ers' edge in this draft will be Jaishawn Barham. He's one of the few prospects who actually lines up cleanly with the current roster. Too often, draftniks ignore roster building, but it clearly matters to the Niners. With Nick Bosa and Mykel Williams handling base downs, there isn't an obvious role for a rookie edge in that spot. However, there's an opening at SAM linebacker, where Luke Gifford is holding things down at a replacement-level tier.

Barham gives them flexibility. Whether Raheem Morris sticks with a stacked SAM in their traditional wide 9 looks or shifts to more five-man surfaces with the SAM on the line of scrimmage, Barham can function in both roles. As a pass rusher, he addresses a key need: more juice off the edge. He's a developmental player, but one with real bend, explosiveness, and untapped upside.

Yes is my guess, with no trades it makes sense

I do agree Barham could be one of Raheem's pool party guys.

I think Howell, Lawrence, Jacas, and Crawford could also be pool party guys at EDGE.

Would have to be at #58 w no trades. Then with oir first pick.... I think would be Concepcion or EMW
One thing I don't want to see tonight is Cashius Howell end up in Seattle. Boy, can I envision that guy being a nuisance for the 49ers. Another guy with juice that plays with his hair on fire added to that defense...He just feels like a Seahawk.

That guy's style is made to give Colton McKivitz problems. Nobody will remember his arm length when he's bending the corner and leaving McKivitz lunging at air.

My thoughts on Howell hasn't changed from the very first post I made on him. IDGAF about his arm length, we don't have what he would bring to this team. What you mentioned him adding to Seattle. We Do have base down Edge setters; give me some f**kin pass rush all day over that
