DL: 2026 Draft Class

Originally posted by Phoenix49ers:

Howell fell to the 2nd round because of his short arms. Bain was also taken later in the draft than originally projected because of short arms. Experts say this is a problem but I wonder if these guys that get downgraded because of this make up for it with intensity. They play with a chip on their shoulder. You can't overlook his production in college.

Watching those highlights I saw him going inside the tackle and around the tackle to get to the QB. He shows really good closing speed. It looks to me that he uses quicness and moves instead of power to get to the QB so the arm length doesn't become an issue as much.

before the Jets picked, you heard one of the guys say they have a history of picking first round tight ends and then they pick Sadiq?

let's just get to our pic

That's Charles Davis always sounding dramatic (which is annoying). He was reaching back to the 90's Jets btw.

Plays like a nasty possessed demon qb hunter.

Exactly. Don't care about his arms that is not how he wins.

Don't know how we don't draft this guy. Guy gets home to the QB.

I would take a chance on him since there isn'tanyone else that's a sure thing. He could be a bust but hecould also be that other edge guy they need. If they pass on him I expect they'll pick a guard or maybe a WR.
Any love here for Kayden McDonald to be a key piece right in the middle of the DL in helping stop the run, which is his specialty?

6'2", 326 lbs, moves well, and is a force in the middle. Every time I watched Ohio State, he was making plays and wreaking havoc.

I personally think he's a good player and would be a good pick, but they don't seem interested in IDL early. They seem to just want to find a cheap run stuffing or 3T penetrator in the 5th or UDFA, based on who they've brought in.
Cashius Howell gone
RMT gone
Zion Young gone
TJ Parker gone
Derrick Moore gone

and there's still 10 picks to go before they pick again

the 49ers are f**king retarded

Even though it doesn't result in a sack, I love this rep from Height. The process highlights his ability to win high with speed and flexibility. He's really good at timing the tackle's punch and reducing his surface area, but what really pops is that ability to turn on a dime without losing much speed. His flattening is excellent. Check out that inside toe tracing the QB's path. Where I notice him struggle is with his hand usage. I would love to see him use his hands better and do a better job of setting up and selling that ghost rush. He kinds of just flails with his hands a lot.

Height reminds me a bit of Haason Reddick.

2026 Draft reminds me so much of 1996 Draft...

Terrell Owens made turned that draft grade from a solid F to a solid D.

It'll matter against good nfl ots that will grab him and clench down because he lacks the length to separate himself and his speed is not mind-blowing.
