Not sure why upgrading OL for a QB is such a big deal. We saw what happens when you have a subpar OL in the SB.

We also saw what a good OL did for us in 2011-2013.

we did NOT have a great pass-protecting OL in 2011-2013. great at run-blocking though.

All I'm saying is some QBs will require a top end PP OL to be successful. This FO/coaching staff doesn't value guards, never have. They value run-blocking, play-action, bootlegs etc..

We also saw what happens when you have a mobile QB with a strong arm in the SB can do.
Glad to see more people on here on the Mac Jones bandwagon

Wondering if he makes it to 12, there area gauntlet of teams looking for QBs ahead of SF. I keep seeing Wilson mocked to Atlanta regardless of Ryan's salary, he's got one or two years left tops. They may as well bring in his successor. Detroit, Carolina, and Denver need QBs as well. New regime in Detroit, that may lose Golladay and Jones. Bridgewater is extremely average. Lock is too inconsistent, he was given every opportunity and didn't really produce. True, all these teams have bigger holes to fill but the most important position on any team is QB. At end of the day, I would like to see them just trade up for Wilson with Miami. Eff it, go all in.

we honestly have no clue how things are going to turn out this upcoming offseason. the cap being so low, a lot of teams may be looking at this QB class and wanting to go the more affordable route.

I hope Mac Jones falls to us and I'd snag him with our 1st round pick, but if 5 QBs get taken before us, I'd be more than happy to take Rashawn Slater, Patrick Surtain, Caleb Farley, Jaycee Horn, or trade down for Wyatt Davis or Alijah Vera-Tucker.

I meant it by saying that we should always be investing in OL and that having a good OL should be a quality of our team.

They have a good OL. Just not a good PP O line. The line is excellent at run blocking and that's as big a part of the offense as the pass is. It would be great to have 5 guys that could pass block as well as they run block but those guys are hard to find. That doesn't mean they can't keep looking but it's harder than just saying we need to upgrade.

We need to upgrade! See, that was easy.

I love to mock draft as I'm sure many of you guys do as well. In most of my drafts I trade back around 10 spots, grab Mac Jones, then grab a CB and then a center followed by OG. I think it's pretty realistic approach. We need help at interior OL big time.

But yes, I'm on the Mac bandwagon, just not at 12.

Great. Now we don't have to draft an O lineman and we can focus on other positions.

Don't think you can be confident he will make it past Patriots
I say trade down with your 1st round pick. Take an EDGE/CB. Then in the 2nd round, if he's there, go for it. If hes not, its not really that big of a deal, IMO. I am not really wow'd by his tape like some are here.

Which would perhaps put us into the "Trey Lance" zone and I'm not convinced he's a good fit for Kyle's offense.
