2019 CB Prospects

Like all the guys you posted for different reasons Jersey. I'd even add Isiah Johnson from Houston to the list.

For Johnson? Obvious strengths is his height 6'3, and Speed, supposedly runs a 4.3 and it actually shows on film. Fits the cover 3 scheme like a glove. Weakness for me is his lack of polish and he needs some development time, doesn't have much contact courage but not as bad as Witherspoon. Even though I'd add him to this list I would take both Kentucky boys and Layne before him. I do expect him to make some noise at the combine with the 40 in particular and I think he will rise up draft boards as a result.

I don't expect the niners to sign a CB in free agency if Earl Thomas is signed, so I think these kids could be had in rds 3-7..

I am a huge Lonnie Johnson fan if we can get him on day 3 it would be a major coup

I think this is an awful CB class, nothing to like at the top, and pretty poor depth IMO. I'm all for adding a guy to compete, but I'm not seeing it.

Murphy and Baker would be good players for us, but nowhere near first round value for me.

I agree on that, as Prospect wise it could be better but you never kno, some players could turn out to be steals, I guess that's why you play the game and just have to wait and see.

I haven't given up on Spoon or Moore yet, meaning they already have two young guys at the position who might emerge.

I'd much rather them take a trial run on a low priority FA just to fill out of their options at the position.

Namely, I'm thinking of Rashaan Melvin. He fits their measurements, and totally flamed out in the disaster that was Oakland last year after playing really well for Indy the two years before that.

He's 29 and after last year has probably fallen down into that 1 year 2.5 million/2 year 5 million range.

A room next year of Sherm, Spoon, Moore, Williams, Reed, and Melvin has a nice balance of vets and guys for room to grow. It's probably not gonna make CB a position of strength, but it's serviceable, and ET3 is going to mask some of that anyway.

One guy I haven't hear people talk a lot about is Iman Marshall. I think he is much better than his stats would indicate after watching him play against Stanford for four years.

Its a shame Bryce Hall didnt come out. I think Witherspoon can still be a stud. Let Moore and Layne battle it out, and plug Bryce Hall into the CB1 spot next year.

I disagree about this class. There may not be no Jalen Ramsey or Patrick Peterson type talent but I think the overall class is awesome. I'd even say better than the past couple years. Starters can be found in the mid rounds and I think there will be multiple studs, pro bowlers from this class like Murphy, Baker, Greedy and Rock Ya Sin

I have been a vocal Rock Ya-Sin since very early in the process, maybe the first one to even mention him on this website (not that it means anything), but I think he is starting to become severely over rated.
