Surprised SF hasn't brought in Murray as part of their due diligence

There are better QB's coming the next couple years. Do they really believe Murray will put them over the top? As far as Kingsbury's offense goes, why does everyone think it will be so successful in the NFL. Chip Kelly's offenses were even more dynamic in college but not so good in the NFL where they actually play defense, unlike the PAC12 and Big12. Take Murray so we can get Bosa even if it is a bad move.

These are the cards, and they just fired their HC after 1 year, so they are doing a Jed York move here. Which means they are going to do something dumb, like draft another QB with their #1 pick after already drafting a previous QB last year.

sooooo much sarcasm .... I can't stand it lol

Until they actually trade Rosen, this could be part of the game for all anyone knows... Keim could be trying to leverage this to gain more value in a potential trade back for the #1 pick... or, maybe they are testing the contract waters with KM's agent, trying to work out a rough framework for a deal... Nobody knows for sure, but what seems clear is that KM is going to be the #1 pick just not sure who takes him.

They also hired a head coach who has never coached in the NFL. I know Jed did too when he hired Harbaugh but he coached an NFL style and was more successful as a college coach.

Is it a game with Rosen? With their fans? It's insane to introduce this qb controversy to your squad. When you bring Murray in you're actively saying we're looking to upgrade from Josh. Now if Rosen sucks, Murray balls out Keim and KK have to answer to that.

Murray to Arz is happening.

Pretty much. Murray and KK have been connected since he was named the HC and they even share the same agent. Zero chance that there hasn't been dialogue back-and-forth for months.
Based on reports, there is a 100% chance Ari drafts Murray, unless they don't.
I personally could see either of those scenarios, but I'll leave it to the pros.
If PHX says the dream of Murray to the Cards is dead...they are committed to Rosen...Then that is what the situation is. Nobody knows the Cards position better than PHX and recent AZ news sure seems to back that up. AZ's decision appears to be hire the coach who tutored Mahommes in college, and NOT hire the undersized QB who has gotten so much press as the potential #1 player to be taken in draft.

Also explains why PHX has been so adamant that we take Q. Consensus around the league's talking heads is Q = Bosa talentwise, hence why PHX obviously has come out last few days in favor of Q in 16 days. Also , Q passes the eye test for that position.

Only question for me is : does an impressive interior DT , by far the best in draft, fit us better than one of the two best ERs in draft who happens to be a LB, not a DE, Allen. For me, this is the question we have to answer. The fact GM/HC are saying for us Bosa is our obvious pick , means that they don't expect to get him. Usually they blow lots of smoke about right now just before draft.

The thing i could see more likely with Bosa going to AZ is that we look to trade down. I can see how adding yet one more interior DT to the roster(Q) when we desperately need ERs, could lead to us having to cut some of our current DTs, whereas an ER (eg Allen) could get us that 2nd ER. We have a great start with Dee Ford, but he is a LB, not a DE (altho that is his designation now).

I could also see us getting Allen at #4 plus a 2nd tier DE with Trade up before pick #36. To get our #2 pick in the draft, somebody is going to have to come up with another 1st rd or a pair of 2nd rd picks, and that's where we get our 2nd tier DE. Gruden sure looks like the likely guy to go to.

I like it.
If they truly believe that that Murray is a franchise qb, draft him. It's the most important piece to the puzzle in the nfl. Who cares if you drafted a QB last year. They've obviously lost faith in him and, if they draft Murray, are admitting their mistake.

I don't think its dead and they very well may take Murray. I'm just skeptical based on my own views of the franchise, their GM and some of the reports from local reporters.

The national media is 100% convinced that the Cardinals are taking Murray. Locally, the picture is a lot more murky. I still believe that the Cardinals main desire is to bait someone into trading up with them. And if that is the case then you have to figure that they are content with Rosen as QB on some level.

I think a tradedown with Oakland where they could add several picks and still get one of Bosa, Williams or Allen would be their preferred scenario. If they can't get that trade down then I think it comes down to Bosa or Murray, largely dependent on what compensation they could realistically get for Rosen. Keim is a stubborn ass and I don't see him accepting garbage compensation in a trade for Rosen.

I think he'd rather hold on to Rosen and take Bosa than draft Murray and basically have to eat a Top 10 pick by giving up Rosen for a late 2nd or 3rd. Now if some team throws a 1st at them for Rosen, that could be enough to swing a deal but I don't expect them to just give away a young guy that many still see as franchise QB caliber.
Is this true?
