Not at all, could just as easily be protecting him from the freak show they've helped create.

I think the most feasible explanation is that a trade is done in principle but the NFL have instructed that it's kept quiet due to their ratings.

Nothing to support that theory, just makes sense to me.

This is another possibility. The NFL doesn't want any of that stuff leaked. They want that drama so people have to tune in to discover who the #1 pick will be.

I think a tradedown with Oakland where they could add several picks and still get one of Bosa, Williams or Allen would be their preferred scenario. If they can't get that trade down then I think it comes down to Bosa or Murray, largely dependent on what compensation they could realistically get for Rosen. Keim is a stubborn ass and I don't see him accepting garbage compensation in a trade for Rosen.

I think he'd rather hold on to Rosen and take Bosa than draft Murray and basically have to eat a Top 10 pick by giving up Rosen for a late 2nd or 3rd. Now if some team throws a 1st at them for Rosen, that could be enough to swing a deal but I don't expect them to just give away a young guy that many still see as franchise QB caliber.

If OAK does trade to 1, IMO it's because they really want Bosa/Williams and are worried that ARI or SF will take their guy. IIRC Gruden prefers veteran players at offensive skill positions, but his OL and defensive preferences seem to line up with SF's.

I think they do like Murray, but either way I agree that ARI is trying to get a good return. They are basically telling teams that they have the two best QB options this year, so the #1 overall (to take Murray or not) or Rosen is going to cost a Goff/Wentz type deal. I don't think any team is desperate enough to trade a haul to 1 for Bosa. So, it'll come down to how desperate some QB needy teams are. But, there seems to be a limited market for that too. Maybe the best ARI can hope for is some additional conditional picks for Rosen.

Nobody moves up to #1 for a defensive player, not even Gruden is that nutty. If Murray goes #1, Oakland can still get one of Bosa, Williams or Allen while standing pat.

Wouldn't he have to pass a physical for the trade to actually go thru? Let's say they have already traded him - but execute it during the draft. Then, what if he fails the physical?

I just think it's really strange how Cardinals have handled it - whether they draft Murray or keep Rosen.

If I am trading Rosen - I would put a bubble wrap around him and won't let him be anywhere close to some place where he can hurt himself.

If I was keeping Rosen - I wouldn't treat him this way either.

And, before Arizona openly showed their love for Murray - no one was talking about Murray going in top 5. They hadn't brought him in for workout. It was before his proday and the whole media was talking about Cardinals drafting Murray and giving up on Rosen. That's just weird. Plus, Murray and Kliff sharing the same agent just made it look fishy to me.

I've no idea what Cardinals are doing. I wouldn't be surprised if they have no clue what they're doing.

It stopped being an issue with the new CBA. Everyone already knows what each pick will be paid due to the slotting system.

Which is only a big deal for franchises ran by potatoes.
Josh Rosen has what it takes to run Kliff Kingsbury's Air Raid.

But should Rosen remain the Arizona Cardinals' starting quarterback, he'll be running the Air Raid under new coach Kliff Kingsbury. And those who know the offense and know Rosen believe the second-year quarterback can fit Kingsbury's scheme just about as well as any other quarterback.

"At the end of the day, the Air Raid's about kind of cutting the field in half, and pushing the ball downfield," said ESPN analyst Dan Orlovsky, a former NFL quarterback. "That's a big part of it. So, intellectually, Rosen's a perfect fit.

"But he's a perfect fit for a lot of offenses. And then making aggressive throws is part of the Air Raid, hence the name, and he can make plenty of aggressive throws and be very accurate in difficult windows. I've been somebody that believes Rosen's a plenty strong fit for the Air Raid."

Rosen's success in the Air Raid, said ESPN analyst and former NFL safety Matt Bowen, comes down to "football intelligence."

"Where Josh would be at his best is if you give him a menu and Josh was able to get from one play to the next because of a look," Johnson said.

On top of having the size and smarts to run the Air Raid, Rosen also has the skills, said Bowen, who believes Rosen has already proved he can put a ball wherever he wants it.

"What Kliff Kingsbury is going to do is try to manipulate defenders and give his quarterback high-percentage throws in quick progressions," Bowen said. "And that's going to make Josh Rosen play with faster eyes, get the ball out quicker, which he's shown on his college tape, and even last year, through those ups and downs, he showed on his pro tape he can get the ball out.

No one talked about Murray going top 5 because everyone thought he was gonna play baseball. He didn't make a decision until 2/23

I don't get what you mean they hadn't brought him in for a workout? OU's pro-day was like 4 days after the combine....teams weren't doing PV that soon, he was preparing for his pro-day. After that they had a private meeting with him on on 3/19 and now he's there for a PV today.

as far as Rosen stuff, AZ was talking about Rosen being their QB "for now" back in Feb.... like a week after Murray declared for the draft.

The Cards are drafting Murray. They will trade Rosen to the highest bidder.

I'm sure their will be something in there saying he can't play baseball or something.
