I was told you don't win with that and NEED an inside counter move for that to work

The inside counter move only works if you have speed that scares the day lights out of the tackle. Set up with speed then counter and he's gone!

Every good speed rusher has an inside counter move or the ability to convert speed to power. They go hand in hand. It's like a fastball and changeup for pitchers. They can throw 100+ mph gas all day, but if the batter knows it's coming with no threat of the counter pitch, they'll sit on the fastball.

Dwight Freeney's famous counter spin move was devasting because he used speed to set it up.

Freeney was such an intelligent pass rusher. That gallop-like "short/long" footwork technique that he developed has helped a lot of less bendy edge rushers run a ighter arc to the QB. Game changer.

I like him but he's SOOOO small. Really bright guy, pre-med, has improved quite a bit since getting to Nevada. He could get looks as an off ball LB.

Great post Hero, thank you, I've been using Freeney as an example of what Allen needs to work on, now get to hear it from the man himself.

Maybe Tully Banta-Cain can show Allen some spin moves

Good stuff, Wrath. I never knew that. That footwork technique is ubiquitous nowadays at every football program.

He looks quite impressive. Any idea if he will be at the combine?

IMO, he looks SUPER unathletic. We'll see how he plays in the Shrine Game. I love his motor, but his tiny cartoon steps and belly-first running posture make him look like my 60-year-old Dad out there.

What are his physical numbers, looks small in the video, also small school, so where is he currently seen going in the draft.
