Acquiring Dee Ford kind of took away some of the excitement for Bosa. I'm not feeling that same sense of desperate urgency as I did before lol. But it's a good thing.

What happens if Ford gets hurt again? With his injury history, the Niners are crazy to not build some depth.

Your pants don't shorten at the thought of Ford and Bosa off the edges with Buckner and Thomas in the middle?? But i agree though that they have some good flexibility going into the draft

Like they exposed his brother?

What does his brother have to do with him ? They are 2 different human beings right ? Compare their production in college. Joey career high 13.5, Nick career high 8.5. Furthermore Joey is taller, arms longer, almost 20 lbs heavier. Nick has one of the shortest arms(33") from a DE like in the last 20 years and hardly get any tackles(77 total in 3 years). Solomon Thomas had 61 in ONE season. When tackles grab him he's done and he doesn't have Von Miller, Dee Ford etc type speed to get around consistently. He will get some sacks against garbage tackles because he has great technique but when he face good and elite tackles he will disappear.

Nick is also quicker than Joey and has better bend. It's not just that their brothers that brings the similarities and comparisons, they've also had the same coaching practically all their lives.

There's nothing wrong with the critiques out their for Nick, but most of it comes from his Sophomore year. It's credit to Nick that he was already as advanced as he was.

Nick was set for a monster year and would have been easier to form proper scouting assessments. His 3 games from his Junior year, Oregon State, who were inferior and he dominated. Wisconsin, complete with their 4 future NFL lineman, and he fared very well, then finally TCU, constant threat and had a strip sack for a TD, great game and then lost for the year.

Every pass rusher has quiet spells but Nick's technique, decent burst and very good bend mean he doesn't have them for long.

Wish he'd update the article after the combine.

Exactly. And without ford we'd have absolutely nothing. Even worse than before cuz we got rid of karate kid lol. Or better, depending on how you look at that move lol

Joey's SPARQ agility score was 94th percentile and his SPARQ Burst score was 49th.

Nick's SPARQ agility score was 87th percentile and his SPARQ Burst score was 51st.

One could argue that Joey is quicker, unless Nick isn't fully recovered from his injury.

The only 2 categories that would change is athleticism and burst.

Joey's SPARQ agility score was 94th percentile and his SPARQ Burst score was 49th.

Nick's SPARQ agility score was 87th percentile and his SPARQ Burst score was 51st.

However, Joey's SPARQ speed was 36th percentile And Nick's was 54th. Not a category that either of the brothers heavily rely on for success, and therefore not a score owhich would move Nick above any of the other prospects IMO.

Who said SPARQ? I can tell by watching that Nick is quicker, but if you want to use testing then the 10yard split would be the most accurate, Nick's is on par with Mack's let alone Joey's.

I thought the same thing. At least the big guy kinda knew they were full of crap.

How in the world done the 10 yard split measure quickness more than the 3 cone and the shuttle? Also, the SPARQ scores factor in the 10 yard split times. Even if it 10 yard split is weighted more in your mind, 1.60 does not make him significantly quicker than his brother who ran a 1.68, hence the 49th to 51st percentile score.

Also, they didn't play against the same players, So how can you tell by watching who is quicker. Maybe, Joey played against quicker OLinemen and therefore looked slower. I could tell by watching that Peter Warrick was quick in college. It doesn't mean anything until they play against the same competition. Also, like I said earlier, you haven't seen Nick play post hernia. You have no idea how an injury to a players core will affect his quickness.

1.55 was the official. 1.60 was the second unofficial.

More importantly, the 10-yard split in Bosa's 40-yard dash was clocked at 1.55 seconds – tied for the third-fastest mark among all defensive linemen, according to NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah – and that's what will really show up in a football game. While it's rare that Bosa will need to run 40 yards in a straight line, the 10-yard split demonstrates his ability to burst out of his stance, which is a big part of what makes him so successful as a pass-rusher.

All the SPARQ and measurables data have their uses, in the end, gamefilm is still king. You use all the other stuff to support the actual on field performance, not the other way around.

To anyone who watched both of them play extensively it was pretty clear well before the Combine that Nick was a little faster off the line and a little quicker overall.
