One thing that's always bothered me about Nick is that he wasn't nearly as productive as his brother was in college. Yes, he missed 11 games last year, and that's a huge deal. But even going back to his soph year where he played in all 14 games, he only had more than 1 sack in a game once (1.5 sacks in the bowl game against SC). Meaning, he didn't have a multiple sack game his entire soph year until the last game of that year and has only had one 2-sack game in his entire college career (the opener last year against Oregon St.).
By comparison, Joey had two 2-sack games in his freshman year and 4 as a sophomore (including a stretch of 3 games in where he had at least 2 sacks).
Also, Nick only recorded 12 QB hurries for his entire college career, whereas Joey had 14 in his junior season alone (24 for his career).
All I'm saying is, the deeper you look into the numbers, the more concerned I become about assuming that Nick is Joey and Joey is Nick.
How about you go watch the games vs just look at the stats
cause that's what it seems like you're doing.
Dude wasn't a full time starter until this season and he got hurt. His film speaks for himself, whenever he played he produced. There's a reason every draft analyst view him as the top prospect for over a yr.
FWIW, I don't dislike Bosa nor have I just looked at him from a numbers-standpoint. My larger point is, it's easy (and lazy) to assume that Nick=Joey and it feels like a lot of people are making that assumption. I'm merely challenging that assumption based on what I've seen. Now, thankfully, I'm not a professional scout/NFL personnel guy...I'm just some dude on a fan site with an opinion, so nobody has to give my take on NB any credence. It's just that when I see the Joey/Nick comparisons, I'm seeing some disparity, that's all. Others clearly see a very similar prospect when they compare the brothers' game, and that's a very legitimate opinion. It's just not one that I share.
