Your Top Draft targets for the 49ers SAM OLB spot

Harold Landry is obviously at the top of the list if he is indeed projected as a SAM though I think he would probably be drafted to be our LEO or could very well play both spots. I don't really see any potential SAM guys worth taking in the 1st or even 2nd rd but there are def a few guys I really like in the 3rd and 4th rds... Uchenna Nwosu, USC: Really starting to develop a draft crush for this kid. Seems like a natural for the SAM spot. Very athletic, changes directions well and shows really good closing speed. Really like this guy in the 3rd round. Ogbonnia Okoronkwo, Oklahoma: I know a few people here really like this kid. I like him to but I think he is a bit overrated, as I see his projected to go early, mid second round. I like him in the third Sam Hubbard, Ohio State: Similar to Cassius Marsh if you look at their draft profiles, size, stats, etc. I like Hubbard in the 3rd rd, love him in the 4th. Jeff Holand, Auburn: A guy that is really growing on me. Really can get after the QB and I like his motor. Not sure if he is athletic enough to play the SAM spot though. Dorance Armstrong: I know a lot of people here are very mixed on him. I personally like him, but I consider him more of a fit at LEO than Sam. I like him in the 2nd rd though. Tre Williams, Auburn: Another kid I really like. Has a non stop motor and fly's all over the field. I think he could play SAM and the WILL LB spot. Marquis Haynes, OLE Miss: Keep an eye out for this kid. Chris Kiffin developed him at Ole Miss. Really good football player who plays angry and really shows a nice pass rush pop. Love him in the 5th or 6th rd.

Nwosu without question. He isnt going to last until the 3rd round for us though in my opinion.

Bring in the best rusher. Sam is a base position that might play 30% of the time.

For what we like to do Harold tops my list.

Maybe at 59 then....I don't see him going much higher than that though. He's not for every team/scheme

I agree. I don't think we take him at #9 though. I can see him actually going in the 15-20 range, maybe even early 20's.
