Well our FO has definitely seen plenty of Iowa tape with CJ and Kittle on the team so I'm guessing they were well acquainted with Daniels prior to this season. Don't know if he'll be there when we pick in the 2nd.

I would love to get this kid in the second round.
I mean his skill set is for ZBS which takes him off a ton of teams draft boards already....there's a ton of good center prospects in this draft. Also center isn't usually a top end pick in drafts.
I could see him there in the 3rd round.
ding ding ding 3rd round

I still question his value to power run teams, I'd much rather Ragnow or Price as people movers.
As a predominantly zone team he is much more valuable to us, it could push him down, you see less zone teams every year.
I'd be very happy to get him.

Price could and probably should drop due to his injury.

Doubt it. His pec tear was relatively minor. He'll be back for training camp. If a team liked what they saw on tape, they'll be willing to wait a couple of months for him to get healthy.
Where guys like Ragnow and Price really provide value is their ability to start at either center or guard in the NFL. I don't see Daniels pulling that off.

Walter Football passes along that Iowa C James Daniels met with the Atlanta Falcons and San Francisco 49ers at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Daniels (6'3/306) was unable to run the 40-yard dash in Indianapolis due to a strained hamstring, but he took part in other drills, including the 20-yard shuttle -- the Iowa standout posted a time of 4.40 seconds in that event. Rotoworld's Josh Norris sees the shuttle as an informative event in terms of a given player's pro outlook, with the analyst looking for offensive linemen under 4.44 seconds. Daniels fits the profile. He's a probable Day 1 selection in our estimation.
I think top of day2

As we all expected, the team appears to be really high on this guy. They met with him at the combine and are bringing him in for a private visit. They must like his fit at guard. Daniels would be a hyper-athletic guard and form a strong tandem with Richburg. Those two would be awesome together on wide zone runs.
He should be long gone by their second-round pick, tho.

If they absolutely love him, packaging their second and the extra third is enough to jump back into the end of the first/early second to grab him.
