I heard the 49ers now have drafting a LB higher on their list.

He's around 5'10". That's the big knock on him.

Yeah they passed on Wenz and Watson already. Let's add Darnold, Rosen to that list.

Prob for me is that I'm not sold on Darnold or Rosen and thought Wentz and Watson and Goff were much better QB prospects than what is available this year.

So if the Browns aren't sold on any of these guys, sign Smith or Cousins, and then draft Barkley and Fitz at #1 and #4. Or trade down from #1 for a ransom and another first next year plus a boatload of picks and draft at #4 and wherever the team they traded down with is at in the 1st.

Considering I don't like Darnold or Rosen, I'd pass on both. But by all means if they really like one of the Qbs available this year, then take one for sure.

He's almost always had mid-round picks starting at RB. I don't see how you can call Williams underwhelming. He has such a small body of work and actually flashed well in the preseason. Because he fumbled?

BTW that same UDFA also outperformed Hyde down the stretch once he was given a comparable number of touches. Hyde is just a poor fit. It's obvious.

Williams can't pass block, fumbles, and from what I saw in college had gapping holes that lead to big runs...he wasn't breaking tackles. Also he offers zero in the passing game.

He then showed up to training camp over weight, fumbled, and yes got outplayed by a UDFA....I don't care about Hyde cause he's a FA. I'm talking about who's currently on this team and we have a bunch of nothing imo.

McShay is mocking him to the Raiders, noting Ward's 4.23 speed.

Yup it's been reported that teams love ward, crazy speed and along ass arms. He's a little smaller but is very athletic. He most likely will be the top CB taken

Only issue with that is other teams will want to sign Kirk and smith outside of the browns. I think Darnold and Rosen are top end talents....both have their issues but 99% of the qbs coming out of college aren't perfect...that's why you pay that coaching staff millions of dollars.
Tons of successful 5'10 corners. Ppl too wooried about measurables. Gonna end up with a whole team of Dontae Johnson's.

The team wants tall and long corners.

I'd love if they were willing to give a guy like Mike Hughes or Jaire Alexander a look.

To write off a guy that the HC loves loved in the draft who went on the IR in his rookie season seems WAY too premature to me. Most rookies can't pass block. So he fumbled. Oh well. He didn't look bad in the preseason. His fake injury took 4 months to heal, so maybe it wasn't so fake.

Him and Brieda are locked in there next year. Add another guy to compete and we're good at the position. KS wants speed and Joe has it.

To each his own. We'll see how it'll all plays out. I'm confident Kyle will field a solid RB group.

I don't think Darnold or Rosen will have near as great careers as Wentz, Goff, and Watson. We will see.

I hate to be that guy, but mods, this thread really needs to get back to being about Draft Rumors.

I have read a rumor that Clelin Ferrell will NOT leave Clemson for the NFL this year.

Ferrell is now officially returning to clemson.

If Cousins wants to go there that's an acceptable solution because he's a long term qb (good luck getting him) but they can't bring in a 34 year old Alex and have no long term answer. That would be insanely dumb on their behalf and I don't even see Barkley being a necessity pick. They got a 700 yard receiving back in Duke Johnson. They can settle on a 2 down back and have their Hill/ Bernard. Chubb, Penny maybe look at Hyde. Getting QB right for the next decade has to be their mission though.

Yep, Ferrell and other starting DE Austin Bryant are both returning. Christian Wilkins is still undecided.

If we created a thread for general draft discussion (which is what this thread has turned into), it will inevitably end up with draft rumors discussions. And discussions taking place in this thread when rumors are posted will have discussions ongoing in 2 different threads.

I think this thread should be renamed "draft rumors and draft discussion" or something to that effect. That is if the OP is cool with that.
