Goodell is doing his best to make that happen.

To be fair that is Chris Simms saying that and he is kind of an idiot.

Kyle's bestie? You bite your tongue.

Edmunds has surpassed expectations in spring practices, rarely leaving his middle-linebacker position during first-team reps.

Appearing on Tuesday's edition of Good Morning Football, second-year cornerback Tre'Davious White predicted that Edmunds would be "one of the best young linebackers in the league" by training camp this summer.

"This is an alpha male here," White said. "The guy goes sideline to sideline, he's a 4.4 [forty-yard dash] guy. He has tremendous brains, athleticism, his knowledge of the game is next to none.

"Since the first day he's got here, man, he's commanded the huddle on the defensive side of the ball. You could tell by OTAs he's been getting tremendously comfortable in the playbook and every day he's getting better and better. By that first game, he's going to be knocking folks around."

One of the NFL's youngest players at age 20, Edmunds projects as the beating heart of Buffalo's defense over the next half-decade. Given his unique physical gifts and a prime opportunity to make plays on a weekly basis, he will enter the season as a favorite for NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year honors.

Man can't wait to see him out there!

I still don't trust Allen... but the Bills should be a Playoff team.

Mainly because I expect AJ McCarron to take the starting role and never look back. Pick up where he left off when he finally got some playing time for the Bengals.

Being a so so game manager on a team absolutely stacked with offensive talent? The one really good game he had was against an atrocious 49ers defense.

Erroneous! We are always amazing!

Says the one who believed in Blaine Gabbert?

Is that 9er game the only game you saw McCarron play?

Go ahead and hate.

Where are you getting this from? Like you just made up a talking point and decided to roll with it?

I was pretty consistent in my evaluation of Gabbert from the moment he was traded to the 49ers. I never thought he would be successful long term due to his faulty mechanics. I was on here bashing his goofy bunny hop and happy feet when people were hoping he could be the next big thing. I had hope that he could minimize his issues to at least become a solid backup, just wasn't happening.

I saw him in the playoffs against Pittsburgh as well as in college. He isn't a guy that ever really flashed or did anything to make you think he could be special, always surrounded by overwhelming talent.

Go ahead and hate.

Hate what? He's a middling game manager. A step below Alex Smith.

If you need a QB who won't lose a game for you, he's your guy.

If you need a QB to win a game for you, he's not your guy.

I just don't get the fascination. Had he played pretty much anywhere else but Bama, nobody would know who this dude is.
I didn't like him at Bama.. I thought he was overrated when he got into the league... but when I saw him on the field against a few teams... then my opinion changed of him.

Sounds like he's having a hard time holding off Nathan Peterman.

but Peterman should be considered a serious contender for the starting job in Buffalo. He has rotated daily with AJ McCarron to lead the first-team offense, with rookie Josh Allen starting in minicamp to see periodic time with that group. Peterman has looked sharp, including Tuesday at minicamp, when he completed 10 of 13 passes in 11-on-11 drills and ended practice with a touchdown.

On Tuesday, Peterman took the majority of the reps with the first-team offense. AP writer Mark Ludwiczak tweeted that Peterman had "the best performance by any Bills QB this spring" that day. He saw even more time with the first string throughout the rest of minicamp, and he'll likely be the first quarterback on the team's "rep chart" at the starting of training camp.

First game ever in the NFL, but yikes, he looked lost. Too many bad angles taken to the ball.

He might become a good player but I think there will be a long adjustment period for him as I expected. He's not a natural when it comes to diagnosing plays or awareness but once he's had enough reps, seen enough film and the game slows down for him, he should be fine.

This is assuming instincts can be taught...he looked awful out there. This was his biggest nock in the predraft and could just as easily sink his potential.

Is anyone actually surprised he struggled? I know what the Edmunds is better the Roq people will say though. He's 19

Oh I don't think instincts can be taught but I think you can improve recognition and pick up tendencies through going HAM on studying film. I said many times before the draft process that he'll always be a guy who has to guess rather than reading and reacting naturally like a Patrick Willis but just like Jamie Collins he can be a pretty good LB if he puts the work in.
