And that's why the Dez rumors will get louder and louder by years end.

Spotrac has them at 8 million with nearly 10 mil in carryover. Where you getting 18 from?

Even if they cut Dez that gets them to 25 mil with 37 signed players. Assuming 6 mil or so for rookie pool that would only leave 3 mil or so after franchising Lawrence. It's not financially viable. He's hitting FA unless they can convince him to take less with a team friendly deal.

Excellent....sign all the free agents, all of them.
Are there any "JJ Watt" or "Julius Peppers (in his prime)"-esque players eligible for 2018?
This upcoming draft class doesn't even get close this past draft. Unfortunate we couldn't land a solid ER this last draft) Lawson for Whitherspoon sounds good right now

So I believe our biggest need is pass rush/Leo and this years draft basically nothing is worth top 5 is what I'm getting

lol nope. Myles Garrett was a once in a generational type player and the 49ers messed that one up... SMH.

Beating the Rams the second time. There's no need to compete.

That's kind of their job.

Yeah, I can see fans wanting to tank, and even a GM/HC could reach the point where it seems like the right way to go, but I can't imagine any player intentionally playing worse than their best to secure a better draft position.
Don't sleep on my guys Clelin Ferrell and Austin Bryant at Clemson. Don't know about top five, but both look like first rounders right now. Maybe trade back if we don't see anyone that high that we like.

Of all the top pass rushing prospects going into this year, only Bradley Chubb is in the top 10 in sacks so far this year. Hercules Mata'afa from Wash St is also in the top 10 through 8 games. The Penn State game vs Ohio St this coming week features Sam Hubbard and Tyquan Lewis from the Buckeyes against the Nittany Lions. Will be interesting to see how they perform in prime time.

There is still a couple more months for one of the other top pass rushing prospects (Arden Key, Harold Landry, etc) to assert themselves. One thing is for certain, the Niners need a speed rusher to help Solomon Thomas and Buckner.
