MD really hates this pick haha. We'll see if he's right or eats crow.

I think Shanahan only values QBs that listen to exactly what he tells them to do. He's so unwilling to bend towards a given QB that he only works with guys that he truly feels like he can own. Basically wants to control his QBs like an avatar, with no independent deviations allowed. A true megalomaniac, without any rings to show for it.
So he's only going to be Shanny's boy toy?

We have like 9 picks tomorrow lol. I'm ok with swapping a 4th and losing a 7th for this guy. No loss to us at all

I heard he eats puppies and doesn't like ice cream as well. Word is he only joined the Niners because ISIS already had a head coach too.

His highlights are pretty good on YouTube. He has good pocket awareness, see him step up several times. Appeared to have a very strong arm and throws accurate deep. You could see him hesitate sometimes and had some pretty wobbly throws, though on target. I'm really not excited about him nor am I down on it. Shanahan must have really wanted this guy, and as a very efficient QB coach, I think as a GM you gotta give coach the QB hev wants. We'll see. If we get cousins he is sitting for 5 years, if not he may see action in 2.

What a perfect way to end this day of drafting. I am speechless on the QB chosen. I'm scared to watch tomorrow. They drafted a 6th round CB and a QB who probably goes undrafted in the 3rd round. Oh yeah they traded away a pick instead of picking a player because we have duch a good roster, but it's for a 2nd round pick next year. The problem is NO and Brees will make that pick around pick 60, so we gain 7 spots a year later? There is the chance the pick is higher than 60, yes, but you get the point. Sorry I'm Denny downer. Like I've been saying my fan boy days ended when I was getting so mad at my friends back in the Dennis Erickson days then through Alex Smith pre Harbaugh. We get good and it gets blown up over a ego pissing match. Now we are back where we started but this time I'm not getting mad at the truth. So that's where my hate comes from. If you can't understand that then I apologize. I try to be optimistic and then they kick me in the balls.
PS good job drafting R. Foster. Stud.

I think Shanny was basing his skill set to his 2015 tape where he wasn't banged up and had some half decent skill positions

Shanahan praised Beathard for his leadership, toughness, work in a pro-style offense, and accuracy. I was a little confused at first because at first glance, Beathard completed 56.5 percent of his passes last season, and 61.6 percent the year before. However, Pro Football Focus ranked him as having the third in the nation for highest drop rate by his receivers. Additionally, while Beathard was sacked 58 times over two seasons, it was due to ridiculous pressure by defenses. According to PFF's Jeff Deeney, he led the nation in 2015 in playing under pressure, and was third in 2016.

I was freaking out about the qb pick but let me HELP everyone out! The fact is, aside from 2012 and dak, you will have better luck throwing darts and nailing a starting qb then fighting over what round the qb should be drafted. Check this out and realize this pick is about as absurd as all the others:
