Beathard was very impressive at combine, and with teams. Helped himself a lot since the end of Iowa's season.

I had him mocked to us too. LOL

Pro style QB.

I'm good with it. Shanny just might draft another QB.

Not sure I understand the move up. I don't see any teams that would have gone after him.
Well, imma trust that this is a guy that Shanny has wanted to develop. What I've been reading about this kid he fits with what Shanny wants to do offensively:

Pro Football Focus - "Beathard's arm is very good, as he can make the majority of NFL throws. He is a fastball thrower, with little to no finesse in his game of being a true passer. When he is playing in rhythm and knows where to go with the ball, he delivers on time and accurately. Certain throws required to throw up and over defenders he struggles with, as he needs a clear lane to throw through. The biggest questions come with his feel in the pocket and ability to see the field clearly to consistently get through reads, as well as decision-making particularly late in the down. Beathard's arm and overall game is enough to warrant a late-round selection and a chance to develop as a third-string QB."

I think we have a kid that Shanny can take his time to develop and clean him up. He played in a pro-style system, so I think the academics of the pro game won't be a major learning curve as some of the other QB's. So, In Shanny I Trust.

And a chance to develop as a third string QB??

I wonder what the Patriots fans / forums said when Brady was drafted... not comparing talents, but we could be sick with this now, then later be thrilled. Who knows?
I've never heard of him, but im watching some of his game tape, and he looks pretty good. He looks like a really good pro prospect.

Bums got a well known however
Can't say I'm not really disappointed. I want to give Shanny the benefit of the doubt but even if this is the guy he really wanted which I find hard to believe did he really need to be taken in the 3rd?

They should've picked him where Brady was picked....round 6.

Shanny came out of left field with this s**t. This has to say something. He sees a lot more than any of us........
He looks pretty good. He has good vision and his ball placement is impressive. Looks like he has some sneaky athleticism. Hangs on to the ball too long sometimes.
