Left field just like when Lynch came out of nowhere to be GM

I was very happy with the draft until that pick...
I guess you need a head scratcher somewhere. At least it wasn't in an earlier round.

Beathard was very impressive at combine, and with teams. Helped himself a lot since the end of Iowa's season.

They gave up a 7th round pick to get the QB they were targeting. Kyle was involved/his opinion on the QB chosen was who he and the team wanted at that draft spot. Might be nothing or could be something, we shall see.

That doesn't mean you take a subpar game manager in the 3rd round of the draft. You can typically find guys like Beathard in the 5th and 6th round of most drafts.

I Trust Shany on this one. I thought It's Peterman but will see how he develops.

Beathard is a Winner, His only legit wr this year got hurt in week 3-4 He was throwing to freshmen. a year ago when he had weapons, Beathard was given a second round grade (Mcshay) Pro style offense. Good anticipation. accurate didn't make many mistakes (Most of his picks came from wr's dropping the ball and tipping it up in the air) wasn't afraid to chuck it deep. I like the pick, not sure why we traded tho, pretty sure he wasn't going to go before our pick tomorrow. (Altho GB has a tendency to keep their eye on the Hawkeyes players)

I'm good with it. Shanny just might draft another QB.
Not sure I understand the move up. I don't see any teams that would have gone after him.
Pro Football Focus - "Beathard's arm is very good, as he can make the majority of NFL throws. He is a fastball thrower, with little to no finesse in his game of being a true passer. When he is playing in rhythm and knows where to go with the ball, he delivers on time and accurately. Certain throws required to throw up and over defenders he struggles with, as he needs a clear lane to throw through. The biggest questions come with his feel in the pocket and ability to see the field clearly to consistently get through reads, as well as decision-making particularly late in the down. Beathard's arm and overall game is enough to warrant a late-round selection and a chance to develop as a third-string QB."

I think we have a kid that Shanny can take his time to develop and clean him up. He played in a pro-style system, so I think the academics of the pro game won't be a major learning curve as some of the other QB's. So, In Shanny I Trust.
