3 teams outside the top 10 according to MM.

I think The Jaguars, Bears, and (of course) the Browns are all set to be dumpster fires w/a shot at the #1 overall pick next year. Any trade down that secures on of those #1 picks would give the 49ers the flexibility to wait for Cousins next year, since the pick could get them the top QB in 2018 if Cousins isn't a 49er.

It's going to be hard to get a future first rounder though.

Maybe if we trade with the Broncos/Eagles/Texans. But Jags/Bears are definitely too close to us. Browns are a wild card. Who knows what they think of Trubisky.
They're trading back and hopefully picking up a 2nd rounder. They're picking up Mike Williams who is clearly the best receiver in an overall WR class that lacks depth. Then they're picking a TE in the second round -- this TE class is the best one in years and there will be a TE available in the second who may have otherwise been a mid first round pick in a different year.

I'm of course going to be completely wrong. It's not going to be lost on Lynch and Shanahan that way too much draft capital has been devoted to the secondary in the past few drafts and not enough on offensive skill players. But as with any year, this doesn't happen in a vacuum and you take the guy who drops to you, e.g. Buckner last year.

You don't think one of the six teams will be willing to trade?

It would take far too much for the Texans to move up. Bears, Panthers, Cincy, Cleveland, NO, Washington

It is a long way buy you would think management has to be feeling the pressure after bombing so hard on Brock. They have win now talent but no QB so they may at least try.

we can trade back, snag a ton of picks and still land a top WR or CB.

I think it depends on the offer they get. Lots of teams might be looking to trade, doesn't mean all of them are offering anything close to fair trade value, even in a down year for #2 pick value.

I agree we need to focus on playmakers, skill position players. That to me would still include pass rusher and maybe even corner early in the draft. Doesn't necessarily have to be offensive, but we still need more talent there as well.
