Why not if Ward moving is a smokescreen? If we can't trade down, which I think when it's all said and done we will(with a good possibility twice in the first),I'm taking Hooker(if Ward in fact is a smokescreen) or reaching for Barnett.
Go look at how many safeties have been drafted top two...it's simply not as important of a position vs qb,OL, pass rush, CB
Why would it be a smokescreen? What do they have to gain by lying about putting Ward at FS??
I was asked this by English and responded with this:

If Browns select Garrett, then Niners choice at #2 will either be Thomas or Hooker (barring a trade). If Browns select Trubisky/Watson, then Garrett is a Niner.
They aren't drafting a safety at two

Why would they bother to put up a smokescreen? To stop the Browns guessing our move and taking one?
No I was more so thinking so nobody can say, " I think SF goes with Hooker, they need a S". Possibly be able to,trade, down and still get your guy if not outright take him at two if that's the way the dominos fall.
Ward and Tartt have two years left on their deals and Reid will be a FA so that's not an issue where all three guys combined make like what 10-11 mill. I just think if Garrett is gone, we don't like a QB at two, nor Allen or any other DL... we keep Hooker in our back pocket.
