They aren't drafting a safety at two

Why not if Ward moving is a smokescreen? If we can't trade down, which I think when it's all said and done we will(with a good possibility twice in the first),I'm taking Hooker(if Ward in fact is a smokescreen) or reaching for Barnett.

Why would they bother to put up a smokescreen? To stop the Browns guessing our move and taking one?

Why do you think so?

For one his currently injured.

We also have three safeties on their rookie contracts (I included Ward there) and go look at how many safeties have been drafted in the top 2...not many.

No I was more so thinking so nobody can say, " I think SF goes with Hooker, they need a S". Possibly be able to,trade, down and still get your guy if not outright take him at two if that's the way the dominos fall.

Go look at how many safeties have been drafted top two...it's simply not as important of a position vs qb,OL, pass rush, CB

Why would it be a smokescreen? What do they have to gain by lying about putting Ward at FS??
NFL Comparison
Justin Smith
Bottom Line
Explosive defender who combines strength, quickness, and a muscle-car motor to drive him around the field making play after play. Has the hands and feet to be a quick-win specialist and the size to fit as a 4-3 or 3-4 defensive end who can reduce inside for pass-rush downs. He has all the athletic traits to become a high-impact player and possesses more than enough skill and talent to believe he will continue to elevate his game as a pro. Thomas has the potential to become the best defender from this draft class and a future all-pro

Ward and Tartt have two years left on their deals and Reid will be a FA so that's not an issue where all three guys combined make like what 10-11 mill. I just think if Garrett is gone, we don't like a QB at two, nor Allen or any other DL... we keep Hooker in our back pocket.

Right we still have three very young safeties on this team...why draft yet another safety?

Sure imo there's a ton of players that can be put in back pocket but imo he's not top of the list. If we're gonna go DB I'm looking at a lock down CB like latimore over a safety.

A safety at #2 huge waste IMO

Totally agree grab Allen, Solomon, or a CB over a safety

Would make it the 3rd safety in the 1st round in 5 years...wow...

i can see Soloman turning out to be a better pro than Garrett.

What i love about him is his attitude and drive. He loves to torment and attack the will power of the O-line. Take away their confience and instill fear, then take advantage.

Lately, it kind of seems like Garrett is a little of a bonehead and Solomon is a true stand-up guy that will bring about a powerful voice in the lockerroom

Is there a CB really worth tha #2 pick doubt it...Allen not sure heard about his shoulder problems and D-linemen need their shoulders...Not sure about Solomon we need pass rush, LB and WR... I really hope we trade back such a deep class good players will drop...LB H.Reddick and WR C.Davis are my too 2 players I hope we get...
