My new favorite for #2 if we don't land Garrett.
35" vertical and 126" broad jump put him near the top at both and show off his explosiveness.
6.95sec 3 Cone(4th Fastest), 4.28sec short shuttle (Tied for 2nd fastest)
3 cone drill
The 3 cone drill tests an athlete's ability to change directions at a high speed. Three cones in an L-shape. He starts from the starting line, goes 5 yards to the first cone and back. Then, he turns, runs around the second cone, runs a weave around the third cone, which is the high point of the L, changes directions, comes back around that second cone and finishes.
Shuttle run
The short shuttle is the first of the cone drills. It is known as the 5-10-5. What it tests is the athlete's lateral quickness and explosion in short areas. The athlete starts in the three-point stance, explodes out 5 yards to his right, touches the line, goes back 10 yards to his left, left hand touches the line, pivot, and he turns 5 more yards and finishes.
This guy can play inside and outside on the DLine.
jcs are you talking to yourself?

Haha....Just adding to my original post as information is provided. Instead of reposting the same information over and over.
Couldn't resist bro.

People are saying he couldn't play LEO but he still ran a faster 40, vert, bench, broad, 3 cone, and 20-yard shuttle then Harris and McKinnely (Takk was actually faster 40 but my point still stands). We could move him all over the line have him play LEO on 1st or 2nd than kick him inside on 3rd. He would be an absolute beast all over the line, a chess piece for Saleh to play with. He's not a Myles Garrett type freak but his athletism and straight up football talent is outstanding and very much worth the number 2 pick.

I agree - I could see him being the pick at #2. He can play anywhere along the defensive line. Just sucks that the Rams game cost us Myles Garrett - I would much rather have Garrett lining up at LEO. The gap between Garrett and Thomas at that position is bigger than the gap between Thomas and McKinley. McKinley has more straight line speed and much better length than Thomas, but Thomas is much bigger with better hand usage and is stronger against the run. It doesn't seem like the best fit for Thomas, but there isn't a clear #2 pick after Garrett.

Can Thomas be our Michael Bennett type? Or would Leonard Fournette be a better value pick at #2?

If Browns select Garrett, then Niners choice at #2 will either be Thomas or Hooker (barring a trade). If Browns select Trubisky/Watson, then Garrett is a Niner.

I really really hope this is the exact scenario.

Thomas looks every bit as much an intangibles freak as Garrett is an Athletic freak. Thomas has enough athleticism to warrant this pick.
I still have Hooker higher as I think he has a higher ceiling, but if we can't trade down I'd be happy with Thomas, I have no doubt he could play LEO or any other D line position, maybe except NT

Wouldn't Thomas play DT in this defense? I know he's small but he could be our Aaron Donald type right?

A lot of guys have compared him to Michael Bennett and think he's a 4-3 LDE. He probably could play inside as a DT, but his size is a red flag (more than 10 pounds lighter than Donald who is already small for a DT). He could be a nice 3-4 DE too.

There is no offensive player in this draft worth the number two pick...H*ll no offensive player worth a top 5 pick IMO

I'm sure lynch is seriously considering Thomas at 2. But 3 straight dlinemen? I think it's going to be QB or DB at 2, don't see anyone trading up.

They aren't drafting a safety at two

IMO some teams will reach for a QB especially if they're all available at 2 (Garrett goes 1).

Not his best fit could mean that he has got low value at this position. Therefore, selecting him at 2nd ovr would be a huge reach.

Why do you think so?
