Yeah I'm cool with that, I'm not gonna hold my breath that he will be there though. If that's the guy SF want then just draft his ass. I remember seeing a ton of mocks having J.J. watt going 17th to NE but he ended up going 11th to the Texans. Turned out to be the right call.

Mocks mean little to me, especially when we're talking about like 5 or so picks

exactly. I don't get caught up in mock drafts as much as i used to. Landry would be a nice pick at 9.

Freeney is barely 6-1 and has 126 career sacks. If being tall equaled sacks then AA would be our LEO and we wouldn't have to worry about it lol.

I'd almost rather have a edge who's not 6-4+ that's just more mass for a blocker to get a hold of...when I watch davenport it reminds me of AA as far as pass rushing goes...dude doesn't really know what he's doing. It's just bull rushing and trying to overpower everyone.

Not to mention that the overwhelming majority of the best edge rushers tend to be in that 6'1"-6'4" range.

Right very silly comment

Oh I can see it too

Is it weird that I can smell it?

Gross dude

Landry is the amazing shrinking man. They had him listed at 6'3", now they have him at 6'2".

Good call. He'll probably be 5'8" by week 1.

That natural leverage.

Would be amazing if it went down like this...not sure who LA would be moving all the way to 9 for though?

If Evans drops to the 2nd SF needs to think about moving up. Him and Foster we're HS and college LBer teammates. A lot would have to fall in place but like the guys you targeted

For a QB...maybe Mayfield if he drops to 9. It was more of wanting to trade down to any position with a team between 15-19. Arizona may have reason to trade up as well. I like trading down too because if we did and Landry was not there anymore, there are many ideal selections in the late teens to mid 20s for us that would work just fine. Guys like DJ Moore/Alexander/Wynn/Hernandez/Evans. Worth the risk because of the added draft capital to trade back to late teens and see if Landry is still there and because it gives us the ammunition to trade up for our second pick into late the 1st high 2nd. If not we pick one of the guys above or better yet trade back into mid 20s if possible and select one of Moore/Wynn/Hernandez/Evans/Alexander.

Honestly I don't think Landry gets past GB at 14 but who knows...would be bananas if the draft went that way

For an extra 2nd rounder (approx #49) I'll take that chance since if Landry is gone there are those five others that would also be great for this team plus we got the 2nd rounder. We could get two of Moore/Alexander/Wynn/Hernandez/Evans which would be a nice consolation if Landry is picked by Green Bay. We could also still draft Nwosu and Okoronko after if Landry was gone.

Just saying I'm rolling the dice IF we have a trade partner to 15-19 if we are targeting Landry and if we weren't I'd love to get all the way back into the 20-25 area. If we have to stay at 9 I'm drafting Roquan but would be happy with Landry, especially because it means we didn't draft Edmunds or Davenport, and because I do like Landry a lot. I think if Roquan was not a real player and unavailable, I'd be looking at Landry too even at 9 as I don't love the players who will go right after Roquan.

Originally I was reading he was a second rounder, I wondered if taking him at nine was to early. After seeing more, reading more I'm hoping he will still be available at 9! Lol

Landry is going to out preform his draft status. This is catching lightning in a bottle. His injury dropped his status in 2017. He will be more like 2016 and better. Not many edge rushers in history bend like him. Don't eff around and take him at 9 if he is there!

Well a lot of folks I respect here say the Edge rusher class is weak this year. I don't think anybody would argue that fact. I think next year, there's supposedly a stronger pass rusher class available. The problem is, even without a legit top pass rusher (we had Dumerville and Cassius) we went 5-0, if we somehow replicate a 10+ win season without a legit pass rush, we'll drop to the twenties when we pick next year. So even *if* next years pass rusher class is stronger than this year, we'll be picking later (assuming we perform average to above average - defensively) and we *still* won't get a shot at an elite rusher like a Nick Bosa.

The way to protect a guy like Landry is for a very strong gap penetrating DT to play next to him. Like Cowboy did for Aldon in the beginning of his career, perhaps Buckner or Solomon can do that for Landry. If they have to double Solomon/Buckner, then they have to slide the protections their way and makes them vulnerable to a strong side blitz or simply a decent to above average pass rusher from the strong side (Attauchu). In other words, I think a guy like Landry in his first year, his success really will depend on the development of Buckner and Solomon drawing double teams. (read *holding* without getting caught! )
