Mitch "Mr Biscuit" Trubisky-QB-North Carolina

Well, Trubisky may have had an opportunity to GROW into the system and be a very good QB. Has all the physical skills. Bears decided to throw him into the fire.... Guess now, we just have to place bets on how long will it take for NFL hits to completely ruin him.... I have my money on mid season next year.

Mostly played out of shotgun I guess because he's still struggling under center, a lot of roll outs and few actual pocket passes. His completion percentage and Yards per attempt are pretty sorry. It's his first game but he's clearly not as ready to play as Watson.

Depends if the team is playing them where they played in college. We're moving Thomas all around and making him learn multiple different positions, with multiple different assignments.

Trubisky is learning to play QB in a pro system but he's played QB. Chicago is not asking him to play RB or WR. In essence that's what Thomas has to deal with.

Thomas has to learn his responsibilities at each position. Once he does that he'll be able to just play and not think.

I don't care how many DL positions Thomas is learning; QB takes twice as long to master as all of his DL positions combined.

He's not going to get hit that much because unlike, say, Alex, he actually senses the rush and knows he either has to get rid of the ball or move around in or outside the pocket.

There's a reason Alex takes a boatload of sacks everywhere he goes.

Maybe it should have been a pick, but he was improvising and directing traffic on that play, so it's different. It wasn't some boneheaded throw into coverage he didn't read, it was him trying to make something happen that was ill-advised, like Brett Favre in his prime.

EVERY Team plays the VAST majority of their downs out of shotgun. Where have you been? The NFL is a shotgun spreadfest today. Even the most gimmicky college offenses like Oklahoma State no longer look so gimmicky in comparison to the NFL. I swear, some football fans are stuck in 2005 and prior or something and haven't noticed the drastic change.

Also, his numbers were better than Watson's first start. FYI.

Not Bad considering all the injuries and bad calls by the refs!!! They killed the Bears momentum on those TD's.

Hate to rehash old discussions now that Chip is gone but reality is half of the teams in the NFL are around 50-50 Shotgun:under center with a majority of the shotgun snaps going strictly to the pass. In fact our new HC only ran 43% or so of his plays out of shotgun last season. Chicago this season if you look up the stats was 50-50 with Glennon but with Michelle probably going to be more 70-30 to help him cover his deficiencies.

Your link shows that 24 of 32 teams had more snaps from shotgun than under center. Thanks for proving my point.

I think Trubisky would rather not throw 5 touchdowns in a game thanks to garbage time.

He "won" his because his defense allowed only 9 points. And his first start wasn't his first action, either. His first action was in a 29-7 loss to Jacksonville, going 12-23 for 102 yards, 1 TD, and 1 INT.
