Mitch "Mr Biscuit" Trubisky-QB-North Carolina

Please do not draft this guy. Trade down, build the foundation through the draft and free agency. Wait until next year to draft a QB. The odds are we will have a top five pick again next year. (and no, I am not a hater. I am just being realistic about the quality and depth of players we have)

Agree with everything except for the Weeden comparison.
I posted this in the QB Candidates thread, but thought it was also worth putting here.

Hmm..very interesting. Didn't realize he was that highly graded in comparison to these other guys. Kizer graded lower than Manziel lol

Trubisky would probably be a top 3 lock based purely on talent, but the lack of starting experience will give scouts pause. Despite that, I can't see him slipping past CLE, SF and CHI. It's very early in the process, but I'm certainly warming to the idea of taking him at 2. He has significant upside and our new HC and GM have the time to bring him along slowly.

I agree he's going to go Top 3, question is if we're the ones to take him. We should seriously consider him at 2nd overall, but should also explore a trade down if anyone wants to trade the farm for him.

I'm down with what Shanahan decides. If Shanahan looks at Trubisky and thinks the guy can go beast mode after a season of development, bring it on.

If Shanahan thinks he's the guy, then he absolutely has to be the pick. If he isn't a fan, then I really hope some team comes knocking with a killer trade-down offer. Maybe CLE could give us pick 12 and pick 33 and get themselves Myles and Mitch

#2 is worth more than #12 and #33. The #2 pick is worth 2x 1st round picks unless you're trading only a few spots.

No QB picked in the top 10 will be given a full year to sit. He'll be lucky to sit 8 weeks. If you're taking a QB in the 1st half of the 1st round... you need to be prepared to have him play a significant chunk of the season.

Yeah it is, but the value of a pick is largely determined by demand. If there's no market - and I'm not saying there won't be by the time the draft rolls around - 12 and 33 make for a good starting point in negotiations.
i mean id be down if we traded down in the 20s to get him , he aint worth the number 2 overall tho
