Why because he's white? Lazy comparison

Alex was a better prospect coming out of college. Measurable will be better than Mitch's and he was a two year starter who in certain ways put up better statistics.

People are just desperate to find something cause there are no options, rather just get a qb next year since this class sucks

Didn't put up as many yards as Mitch in each of his two seasons. Threw basically the same TD to INT ratio and Mitch has a much stronger arm.

Alex could have been a much different qb in a more stable environment at the beginning of his career...imo I see matt stafford in Mitch

Alex had better yards per attempt, better QB rating, fewer INT's and won a bunch of awards to go with his 2 years of experience. I think Mitch only won third team all ACC. Much stronger is relative and I'm going to put their arm strength on par. Neither is in the top ten of the league and both I think can make all the passes required of a QB.

I don't see the Stafford comparison. Stafford's arm is top 3 in the league...Mitch isn't close. I bet Stafford is also going to have better measurables coming out of college.

If you want to build up the O-line and all the offensive weapons first like you have suggested, by the time you finally want to draft a legit QB, we will probably be drafting in the 20s. That means you will have to trade the entire farm away in order to move up to get the franchise QB. Can you imagine how much that will cost you to move up say from the early 20s to say No.2 overall? That will totally destroy any chance of a decent draft from that point on for at least 2 years.

High first round picks don't = franchise QB's. It's based on the talent and the player. Truth is there are too many question marks on this kid at this point in the scouting process to say he's going to be more valuable than a J.Allen or Garrett at this point. You take the best available talent at this position in the draft instead of forcing the pick for need. Of the top 3 QB's he's also the one that needs more grooming before he's ready and this team needs a guy to play day 1. Our Defense is also a bigger hole on this team than offense and I'm sure they will realize this when they break down the film.

Trubisky is the best available talent at that position. Why else would 99% of the mock drafts out there have him coming off the board first and to the 9ers at 2 then???

You keep bringing up 99% and a quick google search on mock drafts say no.

Now this is getting ridiculous.

To begin with Alex Smith couldn't throw half the distance of Trubisky.

Measurables and arm strength arent everything Russell will tell ya that...hey I'm not the only one that says he's compares to stafford...Alex does not have as strong as arm at all.

FYI I'm not saying he's the next Steve young or anything but with the right coaching he could be good

Same profile also compares him to Blaine Gabbert.

And Carson wentz...Blaine was never accurate in college which carried on to the NFL Mitch is accurate.

Bottom Line ( from lance Zierlein)

Trubisky is a high-end quarterback prospect who possesses NFL size, a big arm and the ability to throw with accuracy from the pocket or on the move. Despite playing in a spread-based offense, he's a full-field reader who does a very good job of getting an early read on the safeties before crafting his course of action. Trubisky will have to become much more pocket aware and do a better job of recognizing and attacking blitzes to back NFL defensive coordinators off. He hasn't put all the pieces together yet, but the puzzle is all right in front. Trubisky projects as a good starting quarterback with a high floor and the potential to be great.
