AA was injuried in training camp buzzy not during the season

Aldon Smith had 37 tackles 2 FF and 14 Sacks his rookie year...19.5 sacks his second. AA has 4.5 sacks spread over two seasons....to go with his 34 career tackles and 1 FF.

He projects better as an olb. He only has to lose about 20 lbs which he will do for the combine to increase his speed numbers. He bulked up to get to 290. His natural playing weight is about 265.

Kid was a WR before he came to Bama. The reason why everyone see's him as a potential #1 overall pick is his athleticism awareness and ability to play multiple roles.

Why didn't he play more his rookie yr then that's the point

No f**king way...he doesn't have the speed or bend to be a OLB, Allen out in coverage lol

The point is Aldon was a talented player that produced immediately and Arik is an overrated player who was probably over drafted by our idiot GM because he looked like a giant and hasn't produced squat in two seasons in the NFL.

I think there is something wrong with my computer. When I go to the Turbisky thread the posts are about Allen.

Exactly, tell that to other posters who says he is a DE. He has the quickness to be something special and the lighter he his the quicker he would be. Thats why I project him as an olb. Because that is a more natural position for him. Turn him lose and let him run. If you draft him as a DE you aren't utilizing his natural abilities and he will likely be a bust imo.

He was raw coming out of college because he played basketball as well...he had one full season of just focusing on football. The upside is through the roof you just need to be willing to be patient, this team isn't gonna be a contentor for a while so we need to be patient...moving on from a first rd pick who's basically had half a season of healthy football it's stupid.

Please find one scout, writer, or TV personality that projects him as an OLB. He's a DE/DT. Michael Crabtree played QB in high school, doesn't mean he'll be taking any snaps behind center this year...
Back on topic I really like Trubisky. If Shanahan decides he'll be a franchise QB then take him at two
Alex Smith 2.0

You're comparing an end to a olb. Really only the elite ends like Watt or Justin put up 10+ sacks. If Armstead can get to McDonald's 5-7 sacks we should be happy as Hell. People have too high of a ceiling and are giving up on him too early.

Harbaugh likes playing vets. That's not your best point. You put up 20 sacks you're ready. But that's Aldon top 10 stud. Armstead is a late 1st and most likely has a lower ceiling which is fine. Buckner is hopefully Justin we just need Armstead to be capable like McDonald.
