If the Browns beat the Steelers, which is possible since Pittsburgh could rest a number of starters, the 49ers could lock in the No. 1 pick with a loss of their own. Both teams are bad, but with a number of teams on the bench, the Steelers could be led by Landry Jones. The 49ers are facing the Seattle Seahawks, with no reason to rest players. In a sick twist of fate, the Browns could end the season on a winning streak.

I am hearing the same here even Big Ben said week 17 will be a good week to heal coming into the playoffs. I really Hope Tomlin decides to put in all his back ups N somehow someway Cleveland finds a way to beat Pittsburgh. No way in hell we beat the Cawks this Weekend.

This would be awesome.

Drafting Garrett and trading for Garoppolo would pit us on the right path.

Hopefully there is a QB desperate team willing to trade the farm for the Niners pick!

The Niners are a QB desperate Team. I know everyone wants the Number 1 pick so we can take Garrett, but I wouldn't be surprised if the new GM chooses to take a QB instead.

Great! So annoy about losing out on that top pick but what you gonna do.

Only annoyed that we may not get a shot at Myles Garrett. But, I think there are plenty of worthy options at #2. On top of that, there may be several very lucrative trade up offers. We're good either way.

I don't think the #2 pick is very tradeable, too expensive for teams in the mid to bottom first round and all the top 10 teams should be fine with staying where they are and getting a really good defender. Everyone wants to trade down this year.

That's what people say every year. Teams just have to fall in love with one guy. Not saying we will make a trade. But there should be offers for either the top pass rusher in 5 years or the top QB this year.

Jets love Mitch reportly so who knows
I'm going to treat this thread like a 24/7 draft thread.

I hope we spend one of our top three picks on a QB. We passed last year on getting a QB higher in the draft. We can't keep pushing it off, we need to take a chance on someone if an obvious higher pick isn't there. We have so many holes on defense and WR we can add those before and after the QB pick. Baalke really needs to change his philosophy in his draft approach this year.

BTW, I love the #2 pick. The pressure of the #1 isn't there at 2. Every round we are near the top. This pick becomes valuable in the 2nd and 3rd rounds. I don't want to trade out of 2 unless we only go down a few spots in the 2nd or 3rd round and pick up higher picks in this year and later year drafts.

Ironically, I think the Niners have a better chance of ending up with Garrett at 2 than at 1. If the best QB in the draft is there when we pick, I think we have to pull the trigger on him. So the only way we get Garrett is if the QB we wanted is already gone. So Garrett fans might be better cheering for us to get the 2nd pick. Just my opinion, but a lot could change between now and April.

A hilarious scenario would be the best QB refusing to sign with Cle and we sign garret. We sign a QB in 2 or 3 and we end up getting the QB who passed on Cle next year.

Well, if the consensus #1 QB is Trubisky, he WANTS to play for the Browns. His childhood favorite team. This may end up working in our favor as well, for the Garrett sweepstakes, they will surely interview him and I'm sure he'll let them know this as well, even though they most likely already know cause not many QBS would want to play for the Browns

That would be cause for some real excitement and optimism.
So there's still a chance

The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette's Ed Bouchette expects Le'Veon Bell, Ben Roethlisberger, and James Harrison to rest in Week 17.

We certainly hope you don't play in one of those fantasy leagues that extends into Week 17. The Steelers are locked into the AFC's No. 3 seed with nowhere to move. Bouchette expects Antonio Brown to "lobby to play," but he will probably be on a snap limit even if he's active. Landry Jones and DeAngelo Williams are likely to start at quarterback and running back, respectively.

Go Browns go!
Hope RG3 is ready to go on Sunday I think he got a concussion during the Chargers game
I'm pretty sure Pittsburgh's 3rd stringers can beat the Browns.

Browns will draft Trubisky at 1, and the Niners will take Garrett at 2.

Browns have another Top 10 pick from philly where they can get a QB. Garrett is going 1st unless Allen is phenomenal in the CFP.
