When we already have a WR who fits that discription who Harbaugh really likes in the fold. Who am I talking about?
read this post http://www.csnbayarea.com/blog/matt-maiocco/harbaugh-fired-about-young-wide-receiver
to all of you who keep saying we need bigger recievers we already have them. Crabtree, Boldin, Ricardo Lockette, not to mention 2 other recievers who are meant to play on the outside and have speed tha being AJ jenkins (not a slot guy at all) who is over 6 ft and Marlon who is also 6 FT and can fly. and dont forget MM who is an outside reciever as well. Seems to me we are set on outside recievers.
We have one guy who is most definantly a slot guy named Williams but he is coming off of major surgery so if you ask me thats our need at WR.
Not that we will draft a WR early but if we are going to draft a WR early in the draft, Tavon Austin for me please!!!

The only WRs that we know are gonna be good are Crabtree and Boldin the rest are unknowns. How are Manningham and Williams gonna be after knee surgery? Lockette, Jenkins and Moore are unkown at this point. WR is a question mark after the first two guys.

Crabtree and Boldin both did a very large portion of their damage last year out of the slot. I forget the percentages, but they've been discussed in various articles, blogs, and threads lately.

We have to win the division first, and with Seattle's big CBs, it would be nice to have a 6'3"+ 220+ pound guy to do battle with them.

What if the Ravens were able to keep Boldin?
Jennings signed with the Vikings for big money!
Who would be playing wideout outside with Crabtree?
Lockette an undrafted unproven player picked up off waivers?
Yes absolutely we need to draft and develop an elite fast big deep threat RZ wideout and with 14 picks we have the resources to do it in 2013.
I promise everyone who is hesitant about trading up for Cordarrelle Patterson you will not be disappointed Kaepernick to Patterson would be an awesome combination they both have too much talent for it not to work out.

Yes we need a BIG, fast WR who can catch very well.
At this point in time - We have Boldin for 1 year.
The other guys - Lockette is untested, unproven and big question mark.
We need a guy who can draw attention from our other recievers and produce.
PLUS - we need that type of receiver for the future. Manningham, Boldin are not our future.
What if Crabbs goes down - then what?
Not a fan of moving up that far to get Cordelle - would be nice to have him but it's cost prohibitive - IMO. I remember [Please correct me if wrong] didn't we move up to get a sensational WR years ago named JJStokes? How dd that tuurn out!
IMO, I still feel Da'Rick is going to be a star WR.

Most of our WR are average height N weight ..we have enough little WR nothing wrong with getting a BIGG TO TYPE GUY 6'3+ 220+ ..before crabtree TO was tha LAST WR to crack a 1000 yard season .. and sry I think thats sad N please moss was a old man stop gap at best .. I'm liking Marcus Davis N Brandon Kaufman in late round pickups...

I do agree and based off what I said in the orginal post i would love to get Ertz or Eifert early in the draft and maybe pick up Ace Sander (who has already spent some time working with Kaepernick) as our slot competition reciever with williams. Ace is very good doesnt quite cut like Tavon (who does?)and isnt quite as fast but he definitley has some similarties and is elusive. I was thinking about this after I posted my orginal post if we dont get Tavon Ace is a guy who brings similar qualities but would be available a bit Later

Umm there are very few recievers that fit that build that is more of a TE spot which i think if we get someone that big somewhat early it will be one of the good tightends available early on. Especially with Delaine Gone there is more of an opening for that player to get immdiate playing time from the tight end spot. I understand that alot of you want a Large WR on the outside but i just dont think our front office sees that as that big of a need in the early rounds for the reasons i stated above. besides there are only a few WR that are that big in each draft that are also proven quantities when it comes to having that size along with the speed route running and hands and those WR will be going in the 1st 3 Rds for sure. you are right that right now we only have Boldin for a year ( thou I expect them to try to extend him) even if they dont extend him we dont need a replacement for him till next year we need a replacement for D. walker at TE now.
I do believe we will draft a somewhat large reciever in the draft especially with the amount of picks we have but i just dont think we will be picking anyone like that in the first 3 rds.

I like both Davis and Kaufmen as well but they would both be late RD pick ups like you state... my argument was that i dont see us getting someone like that who is a little more proven early in the draft because the FO will not see that as quite as big of a need as many on our forums seem too.

Is there anyone in the draft who is big, fast, and can catch well? Is it likely that we get that player?

Da'Rick Rogers ran a 4.52 at the combine and his game speed looks even slower plus he has character issues. I have not read 1 scouting report or ranking that has evaluated Rogers as a potential elite level NFL wideout and I would agree. No thanks.
The only other wideout I would consider in the 1st round would be Keenan Allen, if he runs at least a 4.4 before the draft.
But i'd still take Patterson over them all by far.
Rams: rumors they may take Patterson at 16th and Austin at 22nd if they are on the board.

Yes and we can get him if Baalke trades up!
Totally doable with 14 picks and still have lots of picks left over to draft some good players...
