I'd be okay with passing on Crabtree. I think it's more important to get a franchise LT such as Andre Smith than it is to get a franchise WR. I'd love to get Crabtree, but there are plenty of talented WRs in rounds 2 and 3. ALso, if someone like Maclin, Heyward Bey, Harvin, slips to us in the 2nd(assuming we have a high pick in the draft) that would make the talent pool really nice in the 2nd round. But even with those guys going in the first, there are some really nice looking receivers in the 2nd round.
Brian Robiskie
Louis Murphy
Derrick Williams
Juaquin Iglecias
Demetrius Byrd(3rd round)
I wanted a player like DeSean Jackson last year and we didn't get him, but even if we would have I don't know how much he would've caught the ball this year. He's playing with a very good QB and a good OL and he has a good OC. It's a big drop from McNabb to JTO/Hill(although we're still not sure just how good Hill is, he's obviously no McNabb) and from their OL to ours which is missing an OT and ours is also thin at the guard spots(unless Baas and Rachal play, which they should).
If we can fix our OL, then these guys WILL flourish once they get to play. Now if we fix our OL in FA, then sure lets get Crabtree or Maclin in the 1st or a franchise QB(I like Bradford but I think I might pass on Stafford).
Another thing depends on how well we do addressing our D in FA. We're missing a CB opposite Nate, an FS, a nose tackle in the 3-4 or a sack specialist DT in the 4-3, and a guy who can get a lot of sacks from the 4-3 DE/3-4 OLB spot(depeding which D we use).

yea thats how i feel now, us drafting crabtree depends on 2 things, how our current receivers play for the rest of the season, and what we do in free agency! Its kinda early but we are going to have an exciting off season.

ESPN is reporting on their bottom ticker that Michael Crabtree will declare for the 2009 NFL Draft.

Sell the farm to move up to Detroit's spot and draft another TE!

That's my concern. i love Crabtree, but if we can't get time for our QB to throw, does it really matter?

Our O-line actually performed much better down the stretch once Snyder replaced Sims at RT and Baas was moved to LG... Our O-line really isnt too far from being very solid IMO.

Some poll I saw on Sportscenter earlier had us taking Crabtree.
