The OFFICIAL Draft Michael Crabtree Thread

Wow, watch this video, it is hilarious in a sad sort of way, the singer is 10 times the tech fan than I am.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZnH5kv1LhSs

Btw Harrell wore #6 for tech and Crabtree obviously wore 5, it makes more sense if you know a little about Tech.
IF he's still there, which i dont think will happen, i'm all for taking him.

1. the prototypical TRUE #1 WR doesnt come along all that often.
there is usually only one guy per year, and sometimes there isnt any.
sure there are the m.colstons and b.marshalls that seem to come out of nowhere,
but thats like waiting for the next t.brady.

2. THERE ARE ALWAYS dynamic returners, franchise QBs (except 2005)
and franchise OTs in every draft. some times several at each position.

he has all the tools; hands, great size, RAC ability, decent speed and most of all,
he has consistently produced and came up big in crucial moments.
if we dont take this guy, when do we ever find our a.johnson or l.fitzgerald?
hopefully we wont be drafting this high for a while.
I wouldn't waste a first round pick on a receiver unless he's the next jerry rice. We need a solid lineman who would start right away, or a defensive stud who will make some plays and create some turnovers.

Ok, Crabtree would be a sexy pick with some flash and dash, but i'd rather take my chances in the later rounds. Good teams draft good players in every round. Not just rounds 1 and 2. We need to find that diamond in the rough!

Just like Josh Morgan in the sixth!

Seriously? Then why are there only 4-6 good QBs in the whole league? Do you think Detroit would rather have Matt Ryan or Calvin Johnson right now? A great WR is a nice thing to have, but nowhere near a QB. Who was the last top 10 pick at WR to win a SB? QB?

Hate to say it but i think Seahawks are going to get Crabtree..At number 4
I hope not though...that would suck..
If Crabtree falls to #10 which I doubt I would s**t my pants

It don't really matter when a WR gets drafted weather is the 1st round of 5 round

Jerry Rice, Randy Moss got drafted in the 1st round

Don't matter where a QB is drafted.

Montana in the 3rd Brady in the 6th.

College prospects are tough to predict and you have to make a judgement call when you pick of who graded higher than the other player.

If you look at the Top 10 in the Draft who really needs a WR?

Detroit- Have Johnson...need OL and/or QB
St Louis- Have Avery/Holt...need OL
Kansas City- Have Bowe...need OL and/or QB
Seattle- Have Branch (could use upgrade)...need OL or QB worse
Cleaveland- Have Edwards/Stallworth...need DEF
Cincinatti- Have Johnson/Houz...need OL or DEF
Oakland- Need a WR/OL and DEF
Jacksonville- Could use upgrade at WR but DEF a greater need
Greenbay- Have Driver/Jennings...need OL and DEF
SanFran- Need WR/OL and NT

The way I see it Seattle could use a WR but with Hasselbeck hurting and missing alot of time last season they need a replacement soon....plus OL a big problem area.

Oakland needs a WR to go with Russell and DMC but with Kwame as their #1 OL...they need OL worse and DEF

Jacksonville could also use a WR but their DEF was horrid last year plus OL needs upgraded for their monsters at RB

So its a Possibility that we could get the oppurtunity to draft Crabtree at 10...Do we do it or go for OLB/NT...if this Scenerio plays out OL wont be an option for us at 10 all round 1 talent will be gone.

So what do you think...YES NO?

which we have...maybe not top 10 qb, but they are good enough to win 4 out of 5 games...

I've been seeing mock drafts that have Crabtree goping to Seattle. I Read this article in another post though...

http://www.profootballweekly.com/PFW/The+Way+We+Hear+It/Whispers/2008/nfcwest012509.htm

If the Seahwaks make a move and throw a lot of FA money at Houshmanhowyousay then they may not want to spend a lot on another WR, possibly leaving Crabtree on the board long enough for us to get him at 10.
what are we, the Lions?? We have bigger needs than a WR. Plus, I drafted him in my Madden franchise and he wasn't all that. So it's a no go, sorry.
I just don't see any way he makes it past Cinci, Oakland, Jacksonville, Seattle or Green Bay.
I'd be stoked to get him if he fell, but like Jerry said, I don't see him slipping all the way to 10.

Hell supposedly the Rams scouts are telling the team to draft him as well. I can't see him sliding to #10.
