I think if you're acquiring Cousins, its not with the idea that he's your forever starter, you're bringing in a QB that can stay healthy to replace one that can't stay on the field while you continue to search for your long term franchise QB.
Just having a QB that can stay healthy would go a long way towards this team getting back into the playoffs. Its not like Cousins was a slouch, he's coming off a season where he threw for 4,200 yards, 35 TD's and completed 68% of his throws, having a better season than Garoppolo has ever had.
