Can someone please for the life of me explain what's better about Jimmy than Cousins?

History of public connection with teammates, less cornball antics, less ideological resistance to mask-wearing, physical attractiveness, ... that might be it.

Please for the life of me explain how Jimmy is better than Cousins. I'll wait. I've provided plenty of evidence that Cousins is better (and their numbers are a Google search away if you want to check for yourself). I still have yet to hear a legitimate argument for why Jimmy is better other than "dude just trust me! Kirk sucks because ESPN told me so!"

Cousins has been the guy he's been wanting for 4 years. Makes ZERO sense giving up on Shanny before he even gets a chance to run the offense with the QB he wants running it.


Now if he fails in a year or two with Kirk, completely understandable

I've asked him like three times now to explain how Jimmy is better than Kirk and he's refused everytime.

It's amazing people have such a hate boner for Cousins yet they can't explain WHY he sucks other then "ESPN told me he sucks" and "I heard from a guy that he isn't clutch." It's absurd.

I get it. Cousins isn't the best option. But he'd be an upgrade over Jimmy easily. He freakin' plays and doesn't get hurt and that's just the beginning! I'm mentally preparing for it.

While cousins would be the most minimal upgrade we could possibly get, his proven track record of staying healthy is a huge one for us. He can do what jimmy does at a tick higher rate and adds a deep ball. I guess the argument I would make is that there are quite a few qbs available this season and giving up assets for kirk would be disappointing for sure. It won't win the media over but it could work. Just gotta draft well and be cap savvy.

It's not just that...you're on the hook for $56M the next 2 yrs for Kirk. His money becomes FGTD on the 3rd day of the new yr for the life of his deal.

You gonna take Jimmy at $27M for one yr and be able to move off him if you want, with no gtd cash attached? Or not have any freedom to save money, resign/upgrade guys just so you can you upgrad to...….Kirk Cousins?

That's no smart business IMO.

Better than the Vikings', for sure.

The big leeway I'll give Stafford is his running game sucked a lot worse. But he's had weapons. Not like Golladay and Marvin Jones are scrubs.

while I agree, I don't really see this as a move that pushes us over the top. Maybe our results even out a bit more and we are consistently in the playoffs, for however long we want to keep him, but if the goal is a sure-fire upgrade, I'd explore other options. You can argue Cousins is better than Jimmy, but the only thing I see for sure is that he's durable. Being durable =/= making us perennial Superbowl contenders.

How so? He cost $21M this yr and $35M next yr....that's all new FGTD cash. They save like $6M this yr but tack on an extra $10M next yr and you cant restructure it because it's all GTD cash.

Asked me 3 times? I don't recall having any conversations with you in the past.

I think Jimmy is much more of a winner than Kirk. I posted my preferences above...sticking with Jimmy was my last option this offseason.

Pursuing Kirk shows a total lack of vision though. If you're going to move off Jimmy, go big.

The funniest part is this place just spent the last week worshipping Stafford. Cousins' numbers are comparable to Stafford and he's had more playoff success than Stafford too

Honestly the only thing that would piss me off if we made this move is if we gave up too much.

Watson/Zach Wilson/Justin Fields/Aaron Rodgers >>>> Cousins I agree

But Cousins >>> Jimmy and it's not close.
