In order to get Jones, we would have to give up key players that would make us a contender. For example, Atlanta would be glad to give us Jones straight up for DeFo. Would you make such a trade?

No.

I agree, and that should give everyone a pretty good idea what it would cost the 49ers in terms of overall capital to trade for Jones and then pay him when he comes.

any links saying we need to do that or just spitballing ?

Atl doesn't have any real negotiating power and we are not desperate for a WR. Now if it were an ER, then we might have to give up something more valuable than just draft picks

How about a slightly used, never going to live up to the hype Arik Armstead?

I was offering that as a value comparison for 49er fans to consider if they are promoting a deal.

Using PFF's overall rankings, Jones is the #3 overall WR with a rating of 91.4. Buckner is the #6 DI with a rating of 90.4. Very similar ratings and rankings. To get one, you have to give equal value.

I disagree it would cost a 24 yr old DE stud (much more important position) who's got two yrs left on a rookie deal for a 29 yr old WR who's been banged up looking to be paid top 2 money right now.

I have to think if there's a reasonable chance to get Julio they do it, that said ATL isn't getting rid of him
We don't need Julio we have Kendrick. -Half the zone

We would have to give up more than just Buckner.

The point was only an estimation of what we might have to give up in order to land Jones.

As others have said, Jones is not worth DeFo.

actually defo is more valuable than Jones right now (from a 49ers POV)
