I feel you. My impatience is my downfall. I just know what this team is capable of now that we have the most important piece. I feel like we could've done more in FA or making the necessary trade for the pieces we need. That being said, I almost feel like Jed is telling the front office to be frugal. IDK.

Not now and most likely not next year. Stop trying to deflect the argument. We are a vastly inferior team to Los Angeles. That's the point. We may still get a Wild Card spot, but there are also an assortment of teams in the NFC who are flat-out better than the Niners right now too.

You do not make moves to counter what other teams are doing. You make moves that fit your teams vision, and moves that make you team better.

Lynch was not lying when he said aggressively prudent. You seemingly want us to be more aggressive, but that is not who we are or we are are trying to be. Rams appear to be playing a short game and that is fine, but we are playing a long game...they are the hare and we are the tortoise.

If we jump into the Beckham sweepstakes, that is fine. If we come up short, that is fine too as he alone is not going to win us a SB. If we do not pursue Beckham, that is fine too as it does not make us worse or hurt us.

Define "buying success". If it means going all out in FA, the Eagles did that and won a Superbowl with Nick Foles.

The eagles big "splurge" was Jeffery on a one yr $14 million dollar deal this past FA

SF spent like $70+ million this yr in FA lol let's stop pretending like they didn't spend any money.

I don't think anyone wouldn't want OBJ on this team BUT there isn't a WR in this league worth giving up two 1st rd picks (which is want the giants want) AND along with giving him $100 million.
You know what fellas, with all this debate and fighting over OBJ I've decided to take one for the team. I'll take his momma out and whisper in her ear while she does things to me, tell your son to spit at Mara in the face, get cut and sign with the 49ers for 5 years at 5mil per. Then I'll end with spitting something in her face. Problem solved
If somehow he does land here... I hope they equip our kicking nets with some boxing gloves.

Why are people so frightened of the Rams?

No team that has won the offseason has won the championship since the mid 90s... pre-salary cap. And while talent is important, it takes a team to win a championship. Every team post salary cap that loaded up for a championship run has failed in the season they were supposed to win it all.

Lets not get it twisted, if OBJ didnt have so much mental baggage 2 first round picks would seem like a steal for him if this team is truly one legit WR away from a championship... but then trade talks would never even be discussed. Nor would anybody really be excited by him going to the rams, some fans are just trying to find the silver lining if that does happen

But again, so what? We got a D-line full of first round picks, a QB who can sustain drives with unproven vets and rookies... really we are an edge rusher or two away from being able to compete in any game with any team even if they have an allstar roster... and then it comes down to who can win the last two minutes. Just look at the Broncos recently, loaded up for Manning, brought in Emmanuel Sanders, signed DT to a big contract, broke every record on offense in 2013... but then finally won when Manning had half an arm, the offense was horrid and the most impactful player and why they won the championship during that run was a draft pick in Von Miller.

TL:DR: Paper Tigers and offseason champs typically crumple by the end of the season.

This whole post is based on a false premise. The eagles have been one of the biggest spenders in free agency over that last three prior seasons, last off season included. Hell, there was a recent article showing how much recent teams going deep into the playoffs had been spending in FA, and the higher spenders were actually doing very well for the most part. Hell even New England were big time players in 2017 free agency.

Its extremely logical to look at the rams as favorites to win the division. Long term it may not be sustainable, but next season they are the favorites,Period.

Yes i love me some Jimmy G, but how many championships has Aaron Rodgers won? How many times has he been deep into the playoffs even? You cant expect a QB to carry a horrible roster every season. Even HOF caliber Qb's cant do it year in and year out.

BTW, The Rams have a pretty solid QB of their own, who is only into the third year of his contract. There is a lot to be excited about if your a rams fan.

The eagles were the top spenders in FA for like three seasons straight prior to last year. There have been several articles recently that show FA spending=success in the modern NFL.

We were not cheap this offseason, but outside of our C a CB spots, im not 100% certain we really upgraded much. Most of our upgrades will need to come from the draft.

People forget how gutted this roster was. We need to spend and draft well to replenish it.

Yes ODB is worth #9, and a third +100mil. Easily worth it. There have actually been numerous Wr's who were traded for multiple firsts for the record.

I hope the 9ers pass on OBJ.

1) Too much Draft capital (based on the rumors)
2) Too much $$$$$ (even for a top flight receiver. He is very good, but......)
3) Coming off an Injury (Major ankle surgery)
4) DIVA all in CAPS
5) DRAMA Queen.

Thanks, but no thanks

Did you hate TO when he was a 49er?

I sure as hell didn't.

As much as i would like to win now, i just know it's not the right time to go all in. we still need to get better all around

You were slobbering all over your TV and TO Jersey the time he pulled that sharpie out his sock, just like the rest of us 49er fans.

We will all be cheering for Richard Sherman by the end of the season FFS.
