We'd get him on waiver claim now that he's been waived/cut. We also contemplated trading for him earlier this year. We get to rent him this year and resign him next year if he does good..

The Chargers are letting him go for a reason.. He isn't very good anymore and certainly not the beast he was 4 years ago.

Still a smart move by San Diego. Let em go a year early rather than a year late.
This is just like Washington letting Walt Harris go. Walt had a good couple years left in the tank.

Merriman over Haralson I'd take a risk on, but not over Lawson.

the guy is 26.. even if he sits out for a season it be worth seing what he can bring to the niners next year.. there is also another linebacker who couldnt make it past his injury and thats the redskins' LaVar Arrington so i dunno
