Not sure if we'd be interested but he'd be an upgrade here over Soap and Balmer. Our run defense is pretty solid but Henderson would definitely be able to swallow up blockers to allow our 'backers to get to the QB.

Not sure they can with back 8 or whatever rule they have. They signed Jason Taylor and that was because Feely signed with Cards.

I was thinking that to but i wasn't sure if that applied to players that were released. They signed Tomlinson and Nick Folk as well.

Oh that's true. Hrm, this whole rule is weird. I think the Jets should be punished more and not be able to sign any other players.
Big John would be best friends with Patrick Willis by mid season, Big John and Franklin would keep Willis clean and probably shore up more room for Justin Smith to operate in our 3-4

C'mon Baalke, get it done

He is a 4-3 player.

...who has the frame and the game to convert to a 3-4 DE. 4-3 DT and 3-4 DE are not very different, especially if you're talking about a 2-gap approach.

Exactly, he is not an edge rusher and has the size to do some damage as a 3-4 lineman..IMO Henderson would make Haralson, Brooks and Laboy effective pass rushers from the OLB position.

He could play NT. I don't think its his best fit, but I think he preform well.

He's probably a little too tall (6'6") to be real effective NT; it's tough for those taller guys to get/maintain leverage in the middle of the defense. Not saying he can't do it, but the squatty/stout guys are usually more effective.
Why did they release him???
