one of the greatest receiver of all time (RASHAUN WOODS) so he might give the

niners the cold shoulder this time around even though he grew up rooting for the

niners looks like he will diss us this time...........ohh well

Im sure if they offered him a contract, he would put that past him. Then he would probably want to play his best since he would be playing for his team. If it were me, and I was passed up by my childhood team, I would be pizzed at first. Then if they came back around later and wanted me, it would be them admitting their mistake and I would play my heart out for them.

Kinda like that girl that you wanted for years, that always passed you up. If she eventually came around, you sayin you wouldnt smash?
Here's a video of his visit today...

How come he didnt play last year?
Sounds like he really loves the Niners and wants to be hear but he wont get the playing time he wants here. Sounds like a good guy and I wish him luck.

Right on the nose on both points. LaBoy is a veteran presence that would upgrade the depth chart over Briggs, he's played this position before...very well I might add.

If we do land him, say good bye to Brandon Graham or any pass rusher in the first two rounds. The depth is so much better with him at WILL where he and Brooks become 3rd down pass-rushing beasts.

We don't have that in the secondary.

LaBoy would be a great pick-up just as long two issues are clear: His health and pay.

I agree re: LaBoy and he does play with some passion and has some natural pass rushing ability, no doubt.

However, I still think the team needs to look at Graham b/c he would be looked at as a starter-in-the-making this year and take over for a departed Lawson or an under-performing Haralson, ideally. Ideally, you'd like both to work out and have Brooks & Graham as your starters with a Haralson coming in off the bench in the role he exceled at as well as a LeBoy-type player for depth and a nice rotation.

I also know that people are down on Haralson but we need to remember, this was his first full year as a starter and we played a pretty vanilla scheme with him. This year "may" be different so we shall see.

Isn't Graham "undersized," hieght wise anyway? I know Scotty's gone, but I think Sing still likes his LBs big.

No question about it! 6'3" 261 with proven pass rushing ability and true experience playing both the SAM & WILL positions in the NFL? What he is positioning himself for in this interview is a "chance" to compete for a starting spot...most likely over Haralson. I used to watch him quite a bit and he can bring it and certainly has a non-stop motor and may have better pass rush ability over Haralson. Conditioning, health and quicks off the ball will be key for him. But he's been running full speed for the past four months. No question SF is in the lead for his services but he also wants to see who will offer him the most playing time.

I think if we can work both he and Brooks into a starting role at some point during the season at the SAM & WILL positons, rspectively, we might have something esp. if we can sign him before the draft and see if Graham falls to us also. We'd still be able to utilize Haralson off the bench and Lawson as well to help keep the two bigger boys fresh. Nice!

6'1" 263? Maybe an inch or two shorter then you'd like but personally, I'd rather have them in this range as the lower man wins in this game esp. the leverage game and what is required of a 3-4 OLB.

As an example, Manny is 6'6" and while he's gotten much better, it's hard to get under blocks and bull rush OT's at that height (and frame) - it's great for special teams and if he had good pass rush skills and defending the pass in coverage but so far, it seems to have worked against him a little bit, IMO.

I dont see it, they are committed to our boys. They arent going to gaurantee him a bunch of playing time fresh off of an injury. I bet he goes to Miami or maybe NE.

You may be right but I believe he noted that this is the 2nd time he's been here, he's here 1st round again, pretty much already has his mind made up (before the draft) and that he'll still visit NE & Miami to see if they will offer more PT over what is being offered here. Singletary may tell him that he will be given a genuine chance to compete over Haralson as he gets his "starting legs" back under him. He also is a HUGE Niner fan and is only 1.5 hours away from home and family. NE & Miami? They'd pretty much have to offer a starting role for him and a real shot at a ring. It'll be interesting to watch.

I hope you are right, he would be a welcomed addition and we wouldnt need to spend a draft pick on a OLB. It should be fun to watch.

To think the Niners are interested in this and don't even have a slight interest in Brandon Marshall. What a joke this organization has turned in to.

I go to Travis LaBoy's high school alma mater and my brother was on his state championship football team. I'd be pumped if he was signed by the 9ers. He's also pretty damn good. He tore us up two years ago when he was healthy.

I went to MC with him. I was in CJ Laboy's class, a year above Travis.
