David Carr's first choice is to join the 49ers. Now its up to the 49ers to sign Carr to a 2 or 3 yr deal..in the range of 5-10 million dollars. Depending on the deal. 49ers are contemplating the idea of paying and extra 1-2 mill a year for a back up qb(compared to Shaun Hill.) Announcement should come soon of a deal or if the 49ers chose to pass.

I think that's because of the guaranteed money of his first contract. His current one is considered a bargain for a starter.

you got to be kidding me. I know the free agent pool is very deep this year, but come on man. David Carr? For real?

What about a player that can contribute to the team right away. A safety maybe? A starting caliber DE that can challenge SOAP? CB? FB? run blocking TE? RT? LG? PR/KR?

The team has alot of needs, but Scotty is looking at another back-up QB.......super
