we have to give up our original 1st rd pick. and if we did not have it we could not sign him.
He would blow up on you faster than T.O.

Doubtful. He'd be getting the fat payday he wants and would likely be good for a year or 2 maybe longer (maybe never having issues with the players, coaches or FO) depending on how well the teams fares and whether or not they are getting the ball in his hands.
I would take him in a hot second.

Even though I wouldn't draft another WR in the first, I'd take a proven NFL player who has shown that he is an elite talent at ANY position over a draft pick who is always a risk any day.

That being said, I'm pretty sure it would have to be the 13th pick we would trade.

I'm almost positive that you can't trade acquired picks in these types of situations, it has to be your team's actual pick. Not acquired picks or comp picks of any kind.

That is, if we just sign him and "owe" Denver a pick. If we work out a trade with them, we can trade them whatever we want that they agree to. Or at least that is my understanding of it.

I'm pretty sure that's how it works. Or else that's only how it works with trading for players who got the franchise tag.

Put Marshall on the 49ers and add a RT and we are headed for the playoffs for sure.

Brandon Marshall is one of my favorite players to watch. The dude is a frekin' ball catchin beast!!! I would trade one of the first and bring his ass to the 'Stick ASAP!!!

Like you other posters said Gore, VD, Crabtree, and Marshall would be deadly!!!

Plus, Alex Smith with a full year under his belt in this offense. Brandon Marshall would help him be even better.

Yeah because he's one of the most athletic WRs in the league and a huge target at 6'4''. You all remember what having TO did for Garcia? What having Plax did for Manning? How Brady really broke out after he got Moss?

That is what you become when you are physically blessed and go up against Champ Bailey six days a week.

I would make that trade in a heartbeat.

I don't see why Baltimore wouldn't jump on this? They need a WR and draft too late to get one. They were willing to take on TO long ago, this would seem like a no brainer.

Boldin - Quality teammate and can be had for a 3rd rounder.
Marshall - Considered a headache and would need a 1st rounder.

Carrol wants to make a splash and has an owner willing to pay the price......
Hate to crack your red and gold glasses so early but if they have a great draft (ex.Berry&Spiller or bulaga) they are definitely favorites to win the division......

Maybe the we can finally rid ourselves of this horrible GM we have

We need a bigger corner ..especially if Marshall lands in our division
Devin Mcourty?
why would we not be favs to win the west? I remember us pretty much shutting down Boldin and Fritz twice last year. Why couldn't we shut down Housh and Marshal?
