If we get McNabb, who's to say we'll keep Raye as OC? McNabb has a few good years left in him, so it would make sense to bring in an OC to install a WCO and build it to fit the talents of McNabb, Gore, Davis, Crabtree, Morgan, Walker, etc.

So now we should bring in McChoke and rebuild everything around him....

I have a better idea, Say no to McChoke!

Let's see, McChoke led the Eagles to four consecutive NFC East division championships (2001, 2002, 2003, and 2004), five NFC Championship Games (2001, 2002, 2003, 2004, and 2008), and one Super Bowl, but you'd rather have Alex Smith as our starter, because he's led our team to....uh....uh....er....um.....

True...but it's all PAST accomplishments.

yeah, but all we have with Smith is FUTURE accomplishments, that existly mostly in message boards like this one.

Have fun watching your old ass QB get broken in half behind the s**ttiest OLine in the league and then we're stuck with a dyslexic 2nd year QB trying to learn a WCO or running for his life on every play.

"The reason why McNabb wouldn't want to come to SF because they want to be a power-run offense?"

That's simply isn't true. There's no way we're going to be a power-run offense even next year with Smith at QB. If we go back to the predictably Ray-gun offense even if we pick a RT and a LG, and telegraph plays, we're going to lose.

Sorry Matt, have to call you out on this one the same way I called out your defense of the HORRIBLE job Forester did at coaching the OL - and in today's blog you update just how poorly coached and bad the OL has been. This is also confirmed by Barrows today as Football Insiders say this is was the WORST statistical OL in the league.

Matt just defending. Yes Smith is 26 which means he can sit on the bench for another 2 seasons while we go deep into the playoffs. I'm not saying this is the preferred situation, but you HAVE to think about it.

Matt is always on Alex's cock.

Nobody is saying we'd get rid of Smith if we got McNabb. Smith would be the backup, and if something happened to McNabb, you'd be able to see your hero Smith take us to a championship.

Hero?
^^ It's called sarcasm.
Not for a 1st round pick. I would give up our 2nd but defintely not our first.

Is he an upgrade over Smith? Of course. But how long does he have 2 years? He isn't mobile anymore and with our oline he will struggle. And say what you want but he is NO Brett Favre.

The money it would take to sign him should be used towards the best OG or OT and Safety or CB in free agency. Then we draft Spiller and best OT/OG available. Then watch us dominate our division and possibly more.

When in the hell did I say Smith would take us to the championship? TO be honest I wish we would've signed Brees a few years ago. It's not that I'm in love with Smith or anything even. I was just repulsed at how the Eagles got everything perfect for McNabb and he still got his ass kicked by the Cowboys. If we bring in McNabb we're basically saying goodbye to Smith, which isn't the end of the world, but when McNabb gets hurt, and he will behind this OL, then we're relying on Shaun Hill or Nate Davis, and our season's practically over. Yeah McNabb might lead us to the playoffs if he plays enough games to actually do it... but he won't. Hes an old man who needs to be protected. To be honest everyone in Philly hates the guy and wants Kolb to take over. If he was so great they would want to keep him around.

This.

Its too bad because if we ran the WCO it would be perfect. He has already expressed his appreciation of Nate Davis' talents. It would make for a nice 2-3 year transition.
I'd feel ripped off, but I hate the guy so

LOL! But OUTRAN one of our best pass-rushers in Parys Haralson. This says one thing:

We really need to consider upgrading a OLB/pass-rusher with the pick we would consider trading for McNabb.

Yeah but everyone outran Haralson lol. The only guys who didn't were statues like Kurt Warner. Haralsons lack of speed getting to the QB or getting to RBs like Chris Johnson cost us atleast 1 or 2 games.
