If we sign Porter (which I doubt), that means virtually no chance of drafting Brandon Graham. So I say hell no.

So what? Every man ages At his own pace, some 35 year olds are better off than some 25 year olds.
of course they do, but these old guys wash up over night, so it is a huge risk.
I was like the only person on this forum warning about Isaac Bruce last year, and what did I say? I said he would go from being our "best WR" to some washup blocking our youngsters over night. And I was right. Over night means forget last year. Last year means very little for a non QB playing in the NFL
Every year with these old guys at skill positions....it gets well old, pun intended
Face it guys, we have to learn how to draft better. We can't be the team who picks up the leftovers from the teams who pick up the leftovers from the Champs.

Isaac Bruce is like 90....no he's 37 but seriously Porter is only 32 lol...look at Sharper..everyone thought he was old and washed up and we saw what he did this year...I'm not saying lets give up draft picks or pay him a huge amount of $$ but if we can get him on a good deal he'd immediately make our D better.

I dont want to trade for him but if they release him, which I dont think will happen, we should aggresively go after him

If Miami releases him we'd pick him up in a heartbeat, but if Miami is looking for something in a deal I wouldn't offer anything more than a 4th rounder.

With the advancements of nutrition and supplements, and also HGH players can play at high level into there mid to late 30s.

you are missing my point completely. Let me try again.
When a football player retires from the league at age 30, you can look back and usually see a slow degradation over the past several years.
Certain special players continue to play at a high level for far longer than their position age avg. WHile this is a good thing and can never be discounted you still do lose something when you are pushing the age.
Specifically the risk is elevated for a guy like Porter to be highly effective one season, and then not effective at all the next season.

Get him. He's still a good f**king player, and if he does fall off a bit we can rotate Haralson and Brooks in for him anyway, Parys is better when he's a part time player and Brooks is mainly in on 3rd down. Manny on the other side to cover part time. Beastly LB corps with TKO and Willis in the middle. DO IT SCOTTEH!

not exactly, porter would be a 1-2 year deal max, it wouldn't hinder our chances of drafting for the future!

Hell yeah!! We need a firery player on defense. Porter is getting up there in age, but he's still a very effective pass rusher. I doubt he'd require much $$ either.

I say trade Parys Haralson too if possible..Give Brooks more playing time..
