Rhodes,Shepard,Gholston,strickland to be released by Jets

so what says you men? has the book already been written on Gholston or is he someone who could be salvaged?

You do know that the Jets BENCHED him this year right? Because for the 1st 11 weeks he had 0 ints and did NOTHING on the field. Do you also realize that his 3 int's were against Delhomme who is a TURNOVER machine, and the rookie QB from Tampa. He's overrated and not a team player. I'll pass. He also started in the playoffs because the guy who replaced him when he was benched was even more pathetic then him.

Obviously I disagree.

People are willing to spend a 1st on Spiller who would serve mainly as a returner for the most part in the beginning.

People are willing to spend a 1st on Earl Thomas with one of our 1sts.

Getting a proven safety who statistically have been a top 5 safety for the past 3 years. 2nd, 4th and 5th. Then we would also get the best returner in the game.

2 birds with one stone.

What the hell? People want to draft Spiller so that he can run, catch, and return. And he has rare speed.

Earl Thomas projects to be a top safety in the league.

Kerry Rhodes is not a top 5 safety, thanks for trying. Bethea, Reed, Polamalu, Wilson, Atogwe, Collins, Sharper, Dawkins, among others.

There's a reason why the Jets are trying to get rid of him, I can't see that he is a significant upgrade over Goldson. And we're also assuming that he restructures his contract if we were to trade for him, since $$ is the biggest reason for the Jets trading him.

We should pick up Gholston for training camp fodder. Who knows, maybe Singletary could kick his ass into gear, can never underestimate the Singletary Effect. Dre Bly turned into a pretty good player once he arrived.

krizay the Jets do not value Kerry Rhodes as being worth a first round pick, and they're the team that has the best grasp on what Rhodes is capable of.

Why would you massively overpay for Rhodes when you don't have to?

idk, he was a freak in college.

Vernon and Brooks showed their ability in the pros (not consistently though). Thats where I think Coach Sing helped those two out.

Gholston, he really hasnt shown anything

but thats just it. Brooks never showed anything either. he got drafted supplemental. cut by one team. cut by us again. then its only end of last year that they started to work with him. Gholston is a pure athelete. maybe they werent using him right? maybe they werent helping him grow as a player and a person? i dunno. i wouldnt be mad if he got cut and Coach took a look at him. He just might turn out to be a beast.
