Peppers would fit that mold
because if you think about it if we really want to make a playoff run next season
most of the rookies we draft probably wont help out

see this past years draft how many rookies really helped us out?

if it wasnt for Crabtree finally coming into camp the rook's pretty much didnt help out our cost

pretty much if we want a instant upgrade of this team go after a few free agents that can impact this team for good reason's this year

I WANT PLAYOFFS
I WONT SETTLE FOR LESS

GO NINERS!!!!

would you sign peppers knowing it will effect our ability to re-sign guys such as Willis, VD or Goldson

remember we have pleanty of cap for years to come & all those players that you mentioned are free agents after this season

i believe VD is next year & Willis & Goldson after the 11' season
& who knows what if there is really a lock out in 2011???
might as well try to win right now
so why not......
Bears possibly tampering with Peppers

http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/DMN-Did-the-Bears-tamper-with-Peppers.html

According to a report in the Chicago Tribune, the Bears might have met with Julius Peppers’ representatives while in Indy. On the surface, most teams avoid any tampering charge when meeting with agents because most agents have more than one client, so teams can claim they’re meeting to discuss another player, not the free agent. However, Peppers’ agent, Carl Carey, doesn’t have any other clients, so if a meeting took place at the Hyatt, the Bears have a lot of explaining to do.
