yeah we need to get a big time passrusher. I think it could end up being Brooks but i want a star now. With that said I want 3 OL and a S first.

I'd love to get Julius Peppers. It allows us to run a 4-3/3-4 hybrid, and we could create a potential slew of mismatches for the defense.
Keeps our pass rushers refreshed with various rotations in 3-4 and 4-3 D formations.

He's been tearing it up the second half of the season. When he's playing like he did last night, there's not LT in the league that can stop him.
He wants to play OLB, so I think we have to consider him. His athleticism is insane given his size. Peppers would be a nightmare standing up. His bull rush is already too much for most tackles to handle. If he had a running start, he'd blow right through the line.
We've been very smart with our money and Peppers would command Haynesworth-type money, but he could be a guy that propels us into an elite defense. We certainly should keep an eye on Merriman and Dumervil as cheaper and younger options, but I really hope the teams pursues him.

I worry about picking up guys that are into the second half of their career...Young blood is good blood. I think he'll be too expensive for our needs in the long term.

Peppers has always been one of my favorite players. We will have to pay him big time to come here though. Didn't he want a record breaking contract before the Panthers franchised him?

he will be the highest paid pass rusher whoever signs him though, but the niners got the money i guess.

a short deal though. 3 years with maybe a 4th option or something. i am okay if we do like with nate, a huge fluffed up contract to get the largest one but it is all meaningless.

Michael Strahan had been fairly productive in most of his career. Same can be said with Willie McGinnest.
Will acquiring Julius Peppers make us more competitive for the next 3-5 years? If so, then there's no reason the structure the contract to get him out if he falters after 3 or 4 years.

so I've been all over the MOCK Draft and supposedly the consensus view is that we the niners will be moving back to 4-3 alignment of the D. so in that case YES to the Tar Heel
