The San Francisco 49ers announced a roster move ahead of the team's final practice of the week, releasing defensive lineman Ogbo Okoronkwo ahead of Sunday's Week 5 matchup against the Seattle Seahawks.
The move comes as the 49ers are expected to activate defensive lineman Mykel Williams from the physically unable to perform (PUP) list.
Okoronkwo initially signed a one-year deal with the 49ers on August 5. The team released him during its roster cut-down to 53 players but re-signed him to the practice squad the following day.
The 49ers promoted Okoronkwo to the active roster on September 19.
The 49ers Communications staff provided the following rundown.
Okoronkwo (6-2, 253) appeared in four games (one start) and registered two tackles and 1.0 sack with the team this season
