This is good news. That way, other talents like Peterson, Dareus, or Quinn will fall to us

Yea...Baalke was also watching the extra session. If we want Cam - we'll have to trade up.
God I would cry if we traded up to do that. I would put a clause in his contract if he didnt work out at QB he would have to move to WR. I could not see as a NFL team to trade up for a one year wonder college QB and make your whole draft shift around because of him. I am not typing this as a "Newton hater" but as in general.

There is no way he will be a WR at the next level. He is a pretty decent passer, who will only get better. He has potential to be a great QB at the next level. It's not like he is just a running QB. I read somewhere that he was strictly a pocket-passer when he was playing high-school.
Sanchez played pretty much 1 year worth of football at USC. Jets traded up for him and I doubt they regret it.

Sanchez was rated a better NFL prospect and came out a better NFL ready program than Newton. Potential is a word I hate in the NFL. I believe he has potential but I dont believe in him that he knows what to do with it. Thats what I am saying. If we get him I just pray to God he proves me wrong and makes me look like a fool. I just dont put any faith in him what so ever. He really gives me a bad vibe. I do understand he did what he had to do at Auburn as far as the scheme went.

Fair enough, though I disagree about Sanchez being a better prospect. In fact, many thought he is a second round pick up until the combine. A player like Cam has to be with the right coach at the beginning of his career...as most players do. Under Harbaugh, Cam can be a very special QB.
I personally don't trust any players in the draft. I understand Cam has legitimate question marks - but there isn't anything in his character, game, or surroundings - which will scare teams away. Which is why every team in the top 10 that needs a QB will take a hard look at him.

Has anyone heard what cam got on the wonderlic? All I can find is a bunch of people setting the over/under at around 15 lol.
I wouldn't call it that bad of a pick, if he's got anything between his ears.

Why does everyone assume that he's going to have a low score? I'm usually not one to pull the race card but I'm almost positive it's because he's black. It's not just wonderlic but earlier in the year people were insinuating that he was dumb.

If it were that important Alex Smith would be in the Hall of Fame by now.
Dan Marino scored a 15 on his....lets not get into this debate again.

Nate played better than anyone in pre-season. During the season the QB play couldnt have gotten worse with Davis. We started the season with a MENSA candidate who went 0-5 and put up embarassing #s with horrible throws thruout the season. Unless booed, after that he looked pretty good for a few plays. Maybe after 0-3 the carosel should have just went to Davis. Both Smiths had severe accuracy issues. Davis wasnt gonna be worse than those 2 jokers.

Nate Davis couldn't make an OFFSEASON roster w/ Seattle's all-star qb lineup of Hasselbeck, Whitehurst, and Losman.
Those still on the Nate Davis train, it's time to give up.
