The 49ers are not going to win the Super Bowl.

-I'm going to look like a certified assclown if they do, but look at it this way. With the changes the other teams in the division have made, and the increased expectations, there is a lot of pressure on this team to win now. The group of players on this team have for the most part have never won anything significant on the NFL level. It is a major jump to go from 7-9/8-8 to 13-3 although luck and schedule play a role in that. Basically I'm saying Anthony Davis, Mike Iupati, and Alex starting from day 1 isn't going to be the difference from hovering around .500 to becoming the best team or one of the best in the NFL.

The inevitable b*tching when the team struggles.

-The season's a marathon not a sprint. It is extremely difficult to play perfect every single week. Look back to last season where the Saints won some games they could have very easily lost. They didn't play their best all the time. There are going to be some weeks where the team wins ugly and others where they dominate. Likewise they will play down to competition and play up comparitively. Looking ahead to week 1, based on the style of play SF plays, you would think the team should win comfortably, but I could also see them grind out a 24-13, instead of the 35-10 win most are predicting.

The constant need to assign blame.

-Some perspective is needed. We have a head coach who is similar to Herm Edwards. A conservative offensive coordinator. The 49ers have talented skill players on offense. Singletary's approach seems to be straight-forward, he wants to wear you out for 4 quarters and then strike. It's a tactic that worked for the Jets last year. If Alex is going into the 4th with 150 net yards passing and the team is winning (or in control of the game), does it matter? He going to have a bad game it happens to even the best QBs. It doesn't necessarily mean it's his fault, the coaches fault, etc. What happens if the 49ers run into a hot/better team?

You guys knew this already, so there's a good chance I wasted my time typing this out. -For San Diego
