With players breaking the silence on rumors stating that age keeps you from playing good football is coming to a quick end. Since W. Harris has proved in the past (on S.F. squad) he can play, give him the shot for starting roles on the secondary and personaly Clements needs to move up top to SS. With the Free Agency and draft, adding some death should relieve Clements from starting CB and let the battle begin for Top Dawg.
Sticking a fork in W. Harris isnt saying much, but maybe moving pawns around to find a soultion can be better then taking chances year after year hoping you strike gold like Willis. Personally I like Harris and Clements as Strong Safties due to there great understanding of the game, and I think we know that Spencer is a keeper.

By the time the 9ers can use a draft pick for a CB it will be too late to get someone who will be effective next season. Bring Harris back for one more season and then the niners can make a move for the next CB. Cant hurt to have a guy with lots of experience coming off the bench. Clements is also coming off an injury. Probably get him to come back cheap and god only knows what Dre being Dre is going to do.

We need to add speed to our secondary but we also need to have experience. I'm a big fan of Harris and I also believe he deserves a shot at a spot next year.

After everything he has done for the niners he at least deserves a shot as our nickel cb.
But he was slowing down before he was injured so idk what he's capable anymore.

Football is about passion...... So let Walt compete but as soon as he sees what Sing is about he will do as Bruce did and phase out as a good mentor (Bruce being a great mentor)..... So why not welcome the leadership, and competion for one of our staring spots...(even if it is a nickel spot)

Hard to say, right now if he is better or worse than any of them. But he will struggle trying to make a comeback after a year off of football.

Michael Lewis was our second leading tackler and is good IN coverage......but if he goes than mark roman definitley needs to go.....he's horrible.

Lewis is not good in coverage. He is a run-supporting safety. That's why he has so many tackles. I dont think it is time to replace him just yet, but its time to start grooming a replacement.

Why not?? With no CBA in place there is no salary cap this year. Sign him to a one year contract, and see if he can still play. If so, he will start or provide very good depth at the CB position. If he can't play, cut him. It's pretty simple. I hope we bring back Bly and Harris. You can never have too many CB's.
