2011-12 Los Angeles Lakers Thread

What game...wow.

Everybody already talked about the Metta elbow, and she should be suspended, that disgraceful. I want to hit on another topic though...

The 2nd that pissed me off the most was once again, Mike Brown. Is he mental? Is this guy trying to brake Bynum on purpose? Why the f**k is Bynum and Session being benched for the whole 4th and OTs?! I don't care that we won a regular season game, now how are they gonna feel once the playoffs come? Are they going to get benched 2 minutes into the 1st quarter?! Where does it end with this guy... He really is the Mike Singletary of NBA coaching, thank god for Kobe last night. I'm happy for the Hill and Ebanks, they played a vital role, but he is insane is he believes they are the key to our championship run.
Is it just me or is Sessions not good at finishing at all? Well, that or he hasn't shown it yet.
The funny thing is my 10 year old daughter made a joke on opening day "look World PEACE just elbowed somebody in the face"

Sessions is not a starting PG on a championship caliber team. He would be a good back up.

Haven't seen him a lot but it appears he either doesn't want to or can't finish whenever he's penetrating. He has very little presence on the court. I do think he's an overall upgrade from Fisher but a heavy downgrade from Fisher when it comes to critical moments of the game.

It's weird, he has a solid FG percentage and high 3pt%. Solid ppg and apg but when he's on the court, it just doesn't appear as though he's really doing anything. Dude has 2 very skilled big men plus one the best players in the league and he doesn't appear he's using that to the offense's advantage. I know the coach calls the plays but the PG runs the show on the court and...I don't know...there's something missing.

That said, he's still the best PG the Lakers have, by far!

Lol, you can't make such a blatant statement like that. Derek Fisher and Jason Williams were starting point guards for championship teams while a guy like Steve Nash or Chris Paul have not. In fact, Parker, Billups, Kidd, and Rondo are the only legitimately solid point guards in the last 20 years to start for the NBA champs. The rest of the team kinda has a bit to do with whether or not you win.

Losing Hardin for them is no different than if the Spurs lost Manu. Hardin fills in the missing production during those times Westbrook or Durant don't produce. Love the way Hardin plays. He keeps the offense and defense from being stagnant. It was a big loss but who gives a f**k. It still doesn't excuse blowing a big lead like that.

The Lakers deserve major credit for fighting back.

I still don't know why they don't setup more plays for Blake to hit the three on the edges. With Kobe, Pau, and Bynum, all three of which can force any defense to collapse, I think Blake could be deadly if he gets consistent looks down there.
He actually does get alot of open looks, at times he just doesnt pull the trigger or he passes it. So he doesnt just look like Alex he kinda plays like him sometimes . He hit some clutch shots tho, and iv'e been screaming for him getting benched for the longest but maybe he will start playing alot better in the playoffs.

Damn right to the earlobe lol. Its pretty obvious Harden was tryna do some downlow dirty s**t and damn he paid for it. Whats with this ima just stand in your way and bump into you s**t anyways, Perkins did the same thing after he fouled Ebanks. Ron needs to learn how to control himself we are going to need him in the playoffs.
When is the huge suspension gonna get handed down?

IMO an elbow to the head is more dangerous than most punches.

To do that on a defenseless player, literally a sucker elbow.

Ok, I agree he didn't need to throw that elbow, but how was he defenseless? He was running to stand in the personal space of another man while he was getting hyphy. Harden knew exactly what he was doing. Again, MWP took it too far, but it's not like Harden was standing innocently and MWP brought the fight to him. Harden was doing what he does. He likes to get under peoples skin. He went in there to do just that, and MWP showed him who was boss. Dick move on MWP's part, but Harden wasn't innocent or defenseless.

Look up the term rabbit punch and find out why it is illegal in all fighting sports due to the chance of it being fatal. Harden is defenseless bc he is getting hit from behind and has no idea that Artest is going to throw an elbow.

Actually worse than a sucker punch considering how dangerous it is to get hitting the back of the head.

Harden wasn't innocent or defenseless?!?!?!

C'mon really?
Lol I can't believe how anyone can stick up for this guy. The guy is an embarrassment for the sport and league
