With most of the Western Teams losing a great deal of their players, the Sharks kept the core of their team, which made it to the Western Conference Finals, in tact. Nabokov, arguably the greatest goalie never to win a cup, goes to Russia and in his place we pluck Chicago's Cup-winning goaltender, Antti Niemi. On paper, the toughest competition for the Sharks appear to be Vancouver and Detroit. But with the confidence of what was accomplished last year, we should know that we have all the ability in the world do go all the way this year. We all expect to build on last year. Every year, we expect a Cup, and this one is no different. It's time to not just make it to the finals, but win. Welcome, new faces, to the 2010-2011 San Jose Sharks!

Not tonight. Wow. Giants win... and the Sharks absolutely DEVASTATE the Oilers.

6-1 final score with Pavelski and Thornton each getting three points. And it seems like Mayers getting on the ice has definitely helped our team these past two games. Interesting how much one player like that can seem to help you. Hope the success continues, for both our Sharks and our San Francisco Giants.

I can say "I don't want to get my hopes up" but.. Not possible. Just impossible. Too big of a fan to not get the hopes up. 49ers better win tomorrow.

didnt even know we were playing due to the awesomeness that are the giants

saw the highlights and am surprised we only gave up a goal. nitty has shown that he should get the most starts, and i loved the way our offense took advantage against a team they should have taken advantage of. sorry sharks i love yall but its all about the team wearing orange and black

What in the freaking world. I turned it on and it's 4-0 Calgary. What in the EFF is going on here. This is UNTHINKABLE. You have to be VERY, VERY bad to give up a 4-0 lead in ten minutes. Niemi gave up three on 5 shots.

I think we should go with Nittymaki as our #1 goalie. Its looking like Niemi was a fluke last year.

Agreed. And it's even sadder right now because Stalock is doing terrible in Worcester. Greiss got assigned to Europe so maybe he can come back?
